Sanjay's Super Team: Disney Store Plush

sanjay super team plush

Sanjay's Super Team (directed by Sanjay Patel) is Disney·Pixar's latest short film offering, released just last month in front of The Good Dinosaur. To coincide with the film in theaters, the Disney Store released this adorable Sanjay plush- available for a limited time!

The likeness here is really spot on with detailed embroidered features. I love the inclusion of his little super hero action figure that he's holding as well! Additionally, the plush is a nice size (bigger than I expected), standing at about 16" tall. As shown on the tag, this is part of the official "Disney·Pixar Short Film Collection"- which is very neat.

It's a rare treat to get merch based on a Pixar short film, so I jumped on chance to get this. Short film items are usually in the form of a plush like this (exclusive to the Disney Store or the Pixar Studio Store) and once they're gone, they're gone. Without fail, once they're sold out they become hard to find and highly sought after. If you enjoyed the short, don't miss your chance to get this great item while it's still around!

Be sure to pick yours up today HERE!

The Good Dinosaur: Little Golden Book

pixar little golden book

OK, now I'm really back. I spoke too soon on Saturday, thinking things had calmed down, but I was wrong! Now all family is gone, festivities are over with and my work schedule has cleared up. Sorry about that! Now... onto the post :)

Little Golden Books, like with many people, are a classic part of my childhood; so naturally when Pixar themed Little Golden books (based on the feature length and short films as well as some original stories) began to be released a few years back, I jumped right on the chance to collect them all.

I just love the classy, minimal illustrations and the retro feel to the designs found inside Little Golden Books. When The Good Dinosaur merchandise began to hit stores a couple months ago, this Little Golden Book (released on October 13th) was something I was greatly looking forward to.

This is a simple, well written book geared towards young children. It's adapted by Bill Scollon, is beautifully illustrated by Michaelangelo Rocco and is 23 pages long.

To get a feel for what you can expect inside, take a look at some of the vibrant pages below:

For those who enjoyed The Good Dinosaur (young or old), I highly recommend this book. You can pick it up in stores (such as at Barnes and Noble) or on Amazon using the direct link below. You can find a Little Golden Book for every Pixar film except A Bug's Life.

Be sure to browse my "Books" label to the right of this page to explore my entire Pixar books collection. Please let me know if you have any comments or questions. I would love to hear your thoughts!

The Good Dinosaur: Wrapping Paper

pixar wrapping paper
Follow me on Instagram @danthepixarfan

The break is over! As things have calmed down over here, I'm thrilled to be able to have the time now to get back to my daily posts. I hope you all had a fantastic holiday!

Today's post isn't an item in my collection per se, but it's something I definitely wanted to share with you all to let you know that it's out there. For Christmas, I got a plethora of The Good Dinosaur merch (which I'm very excited about, but more on those gifts later) and it was all wrapped in this adorable Good Dino wrapping paper! A huge thanks to my mom.

This paper is definitely geared towards the holiday season (with the reds, greens and snowflakes), but there's nothing too overly "Christmasy" about it; So, even though Christmas is over this year, it can definitely be used for other celebrations (such as New Years, birthdays, etc..) this winter!

If you're looking to theme up your wrapping paper with your Good Dino gifts, then this is for you. I love the amazingly cute designs of Alro, Spot, Buch, Nash and Ramsey along with the great colors and layout!

Be sure to pick up a roll on Amazon using the link below. Highly recommended!

Christmas Break

Hey everyone! Unfortunately, between my work schedule and everything going on in preparation for the holidays, I won't be able to get to my daily posts this week. There is still so much I'd like to share with you, but so little time! I still have some great items, as well as our times on the Disney Cruise earlier this month, to post about; so look forward to that!

Stay tuned. Write-ups will resume on the 26th!

Cars: Hatch 'n Heroes (Part 1- Lightning Mcqueen & Mater)

Clear back in February, during the 2015 Toy Fair, Bandai revealed "Hatch 'n Heroes"- a new collection of small, plastic, egg shaped toys based on some of your favorite Disney & Pixar characters! Appropriately, they arrived in stores right around Easter.

The first batch of [Pixar] characters released in the initial wave included Buzz and Woody from Toy Story and Nemo and Dory from Finding Nemo. Now, Hatch 'n Heroes based on Cars have hit shelves: Lightning Mcqueen, Mater, The King and Francesco Bernoulli! Today I'll specifically be taking a look at Mcqueen and Mater (more on the other two soon).

These are fun and unique little toys. They start off in the shape of an egg, but as you fold out the various tucked away parts (very similar to Transformers), you begin to see the character take shape! A cute, simple concept.

Lets take these out of the package for a closer look at what I mean...

Admittedly, these are a bit random, but I like 'em. The designs are quite creative! I had fun transforming them and seeing how the many parts were able to be packed into such a little oval shape. It's actually pretty impressive.

Along with these new Cars characters, additional Toy Story Hatch 'n Heroes (such as Rex, Pizza Planet Alien, Bullseye and a newly designed Buzz Lightyear), are also beginning to show up. Look for more on those here soon as well!

With Christmas just around the corner, keep in mind that these are some good stocking stuffer ideas. You can find them in stores (I found these at Toys R Us) or online (eBay or Amazon are you best bets).

Have fun and happy holidays!

Toy Story: Funko POP (20th Anniversary Editions)

toy story 20th funko pop

In celebration of this year's 20th anniversary of Disney·Pixar's beloved film Toy Story, Funko has just recently released a brand new set of four "POP" vinyl figures! These are numbers 168. 169, 170 and 171 in the Disney series.

As far as stylized designs go, Funko never disappoints me. These are adorable! I especially love the look of Rex with that over sized head and Hamm is a fun addition to this collection. Woody and Buzz are almost identical to Funko's original versions of these characters, but with a few new minor additions: Buzz now has his helmet, his wrist communicator opened and a different eyebrow expression and Woody has his arms in a different [waving] pose and now sports a nose. Still, these were different enough (for me) to get.

Check out each of these guys in more detail below!

You can usually find Funko products in stores at places like Barnes & Nobel, Toys R Us, Hot Topic and Walmart. Or you can find them easily online at stores like eBay or Amazon (use the direct links below)! They typically retail for around $10 each.

These are great for both kid and adult collectors. I highly recommend these for any Toy Story fan; great for play or display!

Toy Story: Woody Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

Follow me on Instagram @danthepixarfan!

Here we have yet another fantastic new for 2015 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament...Woody from Toy Story! This is very well crafted Christmas ornament with a great likeness to the character, a wonderful paint job and other fine details. Love the design and pull string aspect!

I can't tell what material this is made from (and couldn't any info anywhere), but it's very lightweight and feels almost hollow. It doesn't quite feel like plastic to me, but it very well could be. Woody here is at just under 3.5 inches in length and retails for $14.95.

For fans of Toy Story, I can't recommend this enough! This is a unique piece that you won't wanna miss out on, so be sure to check your local Hallmark store for availability (or find it on their website HERE). Happy holidays!

Wall·E: Hallmark Keepsake Ornament (with sound)

hallmark pixar

As part of the 2015 Hallmark Keepsake collection, here we the adorable new Wall·E Christmas tree ornament- with sound! This ornament is (well, from what it feels like) completely plastic, measures about 2.5 inches tall and retails for $17.95. Two button cell batteries are included!

This is the fifth ornament in the "Disney·Pixar Legends Series". The previous four ornaments/characters released under this banner were: Carl/Russell (2011), Sulley/Boo (2012), Crush/Squirt (2013), and Edna Mode (2014).

Lets take a better look at this product out of the package- lookin' great!

wall-e keepsake ornament

The only slight critique I have is that the paint job is (I feel) a bit more orange than the character's in the film (and official product shots), but it's close enough that it's really no big deal. It's a really nice looking ornament overall!

Check out the video below to see/hear it in action. Just press the little button on his side to hear several of Wall·E's signature phrases and sounds such as "Wall·E!", "Earth!", "Eve-A" and other bleeps and bloops.

For fans of Wall·E, I can't recommend this enough this holiday season! Be sure to check your local Hallmark store for availability, or find it on their website HERE. Happy holidays!

The Incredibles: Jack Jack Eachez Vinylmation (Non-Variant)

the incredibles vinylmation

Back in October, the anticipated Pixar Vinylmation Series 3 was released online and at Downtown Disney (see full write-up HERE). Well, fans of lineup now have one additional character to collect...Jack Jack from The Incredibles! This one is still considered part of Series 3, though it's part of the "Eachez" collection. It was released late last month is a limited edition of 2500 ($16.95).

A "Vinylmation Eachez" is a single character in a standard blind box. For example, here you know you're going to get Jack Jack...but the question is, which version? With Eachez, you could get the common design OR a very rare variant design. Of course you don't know which one you get until you open it!

the incredibles vinylmation

With this particular Eachez, you have the possibility of getting one of three Jack Jack designs (seen on the side of the package below): Regular Jack Jack (common; 4/5 chance), Fire Jack Jack (variant; 1/10 chance) or Demon Jack Jack (variant; 1/10 chance).

the incredibles vinylmation

As usual, I wasn't lucky enough to pull one of the variants; but the regular Jack Jack will do! I don't ever worry too much about tracking down Vinylmation variants after the fact (since they typically sell for $80-$100 a piece on the second hand market).

Anyway, check out the common (non-variant) version below in more detail! Great design by artist Anne Marie Brown.

If you're interested in tracking this (or any of the variants) down, your best bet is checking eBay. Check out current listings HERE!
