Events: Easter Egg Dying & Cars Kit

Happy Easter everyone!

Yesterday, my Cars Easter egg dying kit came in the nick of time for our egg dying festivities. My wife and I had our good friends over in the afternoon and we had a blast decorating. I, of course, had to do some Pixar themed eggs! I'm no egg artist, but it's always fun for me either way.

While looking online for a Pixar egg kit, this was one of the only ones I could find. It works for me though since I'm a big fan of Cars! It's a very simple kit with some dye tablets and some "Eastery" stickers featuring Lightning Mcueen, Mater, Luigi and Guido.

Our friends the Aiscoughs (with their baby Ellie) and my wife Brita (in the purple) all ready for the Easter fun-

My attempt at a Mike Wazowski egg...hmmmm...oh well good enough, ha!

I hope you all have a great holiday! So far mine over here has been fantastic. My wife and I just opened our Easter baskets and I have to say there was some really fun Pixar stuff in them. Look for all those posts on my new items this week, right here!

Cars 2: Carla Veloso with Flames

Today's blog post is a recent 2014 Cars 2 diecast release...Carla Veloso with flames! This is a 1:55 scale diecast from Mattel and is number 1 out of 9 in the "Allinol Bowlout" sub-line.

In the film, Carla with flames is seen during the Porto Corsa race after being hit by the "lemons" with the radiation camera gun (screen shot of that moment above).

This was one of the few cars this year that I could just not track down in stores, so I have to give a huge thanks to some of my amazing Pixar friends who sent this on over to me!

If you're also having trouble finding this one for your collection, you can pick her up on Amazon or eBay using the link below:

On a final note, Happy Easter Eve! Hope you all have a fantastic, festive and safe holiday. Look for more exciting posts right here soon.

Cars: Dash Boardman, Houser Boon and Timothy Twostroke

Here we have three very cool cars: Dash Boardman (the green reporter/photographer), Houser Boon (the brown reporter/photographer) and Timothy Twostroke (the red Lightning Mcqueen mega fan)- all seen in the original Cars film (screen shots of their brief appearances above). These characters were first available in a 2010 Target set called called "Speedway 9-Pack." Another car that was also released in that same pack was Tim Rimmer (who I have, seen here, and who was my first post from my Cars collection last year).

These are 1:55 scale vehicles from Mattel.

Dash Boadman was also released as a single in the "Lenitcular Eyes" series, Houser Boon was only ever released in the Target 9-pack and Timothy Twostroke was just released this year for the first time on a single card.

Search for these characters on eBay or Amazon if you're looking to add them to your Cars collection. Good luck on the hunt!

Cars: Skip Ricter

"Race car Lightning Mcqueen was reported missing."
-Skip Ricter

Today's blog post is Skip Ricter, as seen in Cars. He is one of the reporters on "RTV" that reports that Lightning Mcqueen has gone missing (screen shot above). This car is from Mattel and is their signature 1:55 scale size.

The version I have is from the "Lenticular Eyes" series but this character was also available in the final lap series with fixed eyes. For me personally, it doesn't matter what collection the car comes from, as long as I get the character!

It's funny, no matter how brief a car's appearance is in the film, you can usually find a bio/background for them. Here's Skips bio from the World of Cars Drive In Wiki:
"Skip Ricter has been reporting about the race scene for years. After doing volunteer college radio broadcasts of race day action, he got an internship at a local television station. He soon made his mark with the launch of his weekly race recap entitled 'The Race Machine,' which went on to reach syndication in twenty-three markets nationwide"

You can pick up this car on Amazon or eBay using the link below:

Cars: Matti

Here is another "member of the press" seen in the original Cars...Matti! As seen in the screen shot above, Matti makes his brief appearance when Mack and the reporters finally find Mcqueen in Radiator Springs before the big race.
This car was released only in the "Final Lap" series and in a "Lenticular Eyes" 3-pack with Crusin' Lightning Mcqueen and Bert (another reporter).

Between the two Cars films, there are many reporters and members of the press seen. It's interesting to see Mattel's choices on these characters since they're all shown so briefly.

As usual, if you need help tracking this guy down, you can pick him up on Amazon or eBay using the link below:

Cars: Andrea

...And my Pixar Cars collection continues today with Andrea! Andrea is one of the many members of the press seen in the original Cars film (screen shot of her brief appearance above). She has been released only once, in the "Race O Rama" 2009 collection.
If you're looking for Andrea having missed her with the initial release, have no fear. She is very inexpensive to buy online. You can snag her on Amazon or on eBay using the link below:

Thanks for stopping by! If you have any question, just let me know. Look for many more Pixar cars from my collection daily in the coming weeks.

Monsters University: Mike Beach Ball

Summer is quickly approaching...that means it's almost about that time for hot summer days at the beach or pool with this fantastic Spring break Monsters University promotional Mike Wazowski beach ball! This was available last year at select beach locations.

It's kind of funny, having now seen the MU short film Part Central, that Mike's "code name" was beach ball-because now I have him as an actual beach ball!

This is a fun, hard to find item and I want to give another big thanks to my good Pixar friends for sending this over to me. They're always looking out for me!

I haven't seen this anywhere online yet but that doesn't mean it won't show up. Definitely keep an eye out on eBay for this if you're interested. You never know when it might be listed.

Thanks for making a stop to the blog today, as always, I really appreciate it. If you like what you see, be sure to check back daily for more items from my Pixar collection!

Wall·E: Disney Store 3D Character Eve Mug

Last year, the Disney Store released a series of six character mugs that turned out to be some of their most popular products of the years. Included in this release were Nemo and Bruce, Wall-E and Eve, Hamm and Mr. Incredible. These mugs were pretty much everywhere for a while but then they started to sell out...fast.

The least rare of the bunch are definitely the two Finding Nemo ones and The Incredibles one, which can easily found online (such as eBay) for under $20. Hamm is the next rare, selling for no less than $20 these days. With the Wall-E and Eve mugs, the prices jump quite a bit. They are currently the most rare, expensive and sought after of the bunch. Eve typically sells for no less than $45 and Wall-E sells for no less than $50. There's even a current auction going on where they are selling for over $100 together! It's so crazy to me how fast Disney Store Merchandise sells out and becomes rare. Not even too long ago, the stores were just selling them on sale for around $12.

I was lucky enough to grab this Eve mug from the Disney Store's website right before she sold out a month ago (and boy was I happy to get it, it's so awesome!). I was unfortunately too late for Wall·E though (I procrastinated too long, having no idea how hard to find he would get).

This mug has a great design and is really well made. If you get any kind of chance to grab it for a decent price, I really recommend it.

Here's a link to all current eBay auctions:

As always, I really appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to read my blog. Thanks for the support! Be sure to check back every day for more items from my Pixar collection.

UPDATE 6/24/15: I have finally purchased the Wall·E mug! See the post HERE.

Cars 2: Hydraulic Ramone

For the last day of my Cars Ramone themed week, we're going back to his classic purple paint job with flames...this time with hydraulics! Although this car was released in the Cars 2 collection, he never actually appears this way in that film, only in the original Cars (screen shot above). In fact, you never see Ramone with his purple look anywhere in Cars 2 as his only three paint jobs were green, "Union Jack" (British flag) and orange tie dye.

Either way though, this is a great car and it made fans happy when it was released. Ramone with his hydraulic look was long awaited!

To wrap up my collection of Ramones, also visit posts I did previously, Green Ramone and another one called Hydraulic Ramone (even though his hydraulics aren't even extended, I don't know why they called him that).

And like mentioned in yesterday's post, my hard drive unfortunately deleted the pictures of two other Ramones I have, Lightning Ramone and Radiator Springs Ramone. I will post those as soon as I'm able to take new pictures!

I know there are a few other Ramones out there that I don't have here on my blog or in my collection, such as Ghost Light Ramone, Wedding Day Ramone, Retro Ramone and Christmas Cruiser Ramone, but that's because I'm just a collector of cars seen in the actual two films. The only one I'm actually missing from the films is the Cars 2 Union Jack Ramone (that was only released in a Target gift pack). If anyone has an extra or would like to sell theirs, just shoot me an email!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my collection. Be sure to come back daily for much, much more coming your way!

Cars 2: Body Shop Ramone

Today's post is Body Shop Ramone from last year's 2013 Mattel Cars collection (Wheel Well Motel Sub-Line)! This is how Ramone looks when we first meet him in his body shop at the very beginning of Cars 2 when he helps out Otis (screen shot from that moment above).

This is a pretty cool version of the character and he even has a small "paint spray gun" detail on the side which I thought was a nice addition.

As mentioned yesterday, with the result of my hard drive crashing, I have lost more than half of my Cars collection pictures which I'll have to retake when I'm back with my collection in CT (hopefully this summer). I had mentioned one Ramone that I won't be able to post because of this (Lightning Ramone) but I also saw that there is another missing that I'll have to mention here but post about later...Radiator Springs Ramone from Cars 2 (the one with the really cool orange, yellow and purple tie dye ish colors). There goes my plan of having all my Ramones here back to back!

You can find this one easily on Amazon or eBay, so if you missed him last year, definitely grab him while he's still very easy and cheap to track down!

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to look for one more Ramone coming your way tomorrow. Also, for more of the cars from my collection that I've posted so far, check out my Cars & Cars 2 label to the right.

Cars: Yellow Ramone

This week's Ramone theme continues! This time with his yellow paint job. He's not like this for very long (I think just one brief scene, screen shot above) but it was memorable nonetheless.

Like most of the "Ramones", this car has been released in many of the lines throughout the years such as Supercharged, World of Cars, Lenticular eyes and this, the latest release, from the Radiator Springs Classic collection (a Toys R Us exclusive).

Also, just a heads up, something very unfortunate happened while I've been working on organizing all of my photos for the posts I do. Yesterday, my external hard drive, which holds all my Pixar collection pictures, started to crash (it's a pretty old drive so it was bound to happen) while I was using it. As a result, files from two days worth of pictures were corrupted and now nowhere to be found. Luckily, it was only those two days though, from back in August. I was able to get a new hard drive and save the rest of my entire iPhoto library, fortunately. The unfortunate news is that those two days of pictures happen to be pictures of more than half of my Cars collection. I'm out in Idaho currently for school and my whole collection is back at my home in Connecticut, so it will be a while before I get back there to retake the pictures. I'll post here as long as I can, but it will be much more short lived since I'm now missing around 80 cars pictures. Lame, right? I guess it could have been worse, so I'm grateful!

You can pick this Ramone up on eBay or Amazon for very reasonable prices.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and be sure to come back tomorrow for more of my Cars collection!

Cars: Purple Ramone

As mentioned yesterday (if you're following along) this week's theme is Ramone in all his paint jobs! I started yesterday with Old School Ramone and thought I'd go right to his original Cars classic paint job, purple with flames. This is how Ramone first looks when we meet him in the film (screen shot above).

This Ramone is loose since he's a pretty old one of mine. This one is from the original "Desert Series" (the first line released back in 2006) but this same exact purple version has been released countless times (World of Cars, Supercharged, Radiator Springs Classic, etc), even up to this year...the 2014 release just came out and can be currently found in stores if you're looking.

Also check out my Ramone's House of Body Art playset (and all the Radiator Springs playsets for that matter, if you're interested)

You can pick this awesome Ramone up on Amazon or eBay using the link below:

Interested in more Ramon cars? More coming your way so be sure to come back daily with week. Stay tuned!

Cars: Old School Ramone

Today I'm finishing up this past week's retro Radiator Springs theme from Cars with Old School Ramone! This post is also starting a new theme this week which is, you guessed it, the many "paint jobs" of Ramone that Mattel has released over the years.

This particular Ramone can be seen in the film during the "Our Town" flashback scene, talking to the character Greta as they drive out of Ramone's shop.

In addition to being released in the World of Cars series as seen here, he was also released in the Supercharged line only under the name "Crusin' Ramone."

You can pick up this Ramone one Amazon or, as always, eBay using the link below:
Cars: Old School Ramone

In addition to the retro cars I've posted this past week and the two that were posted previously (Hank "Halloween" Murphy and Dustin Mellows) There are three more cars out there (that I'm aware of) that are also from the Radiator Springs retro flashback scene: Derek Decals Dobbs, Miles (the FN red truck) and Timothy Timezone Truecoat. Those are the only three from this "theme" that I'm missing but I'll be sure to post them as soon as I'm able to track them down.

Want to see more of my Cars collection that I've posted so far? Visit the Cars & Cars 2 label to the right to check them out and stay tuned for many, many more to come!

Cars: Milton Calypeer

This week's Cars retro Radiator Springs theme continues with today's post... Milton Calypeer! Milton's appearance in the film is a blink and you miss him moment. In fact, you may even have to squint your eyes to even see him. He appears at the very beginning of the "Our Town" segment in the film driving down the road (screen shot above). He's a really cool design, but an interesting choice to make a diecast from since he's hardly visible!

This particular version has "lenticular eyes" but there was also a "fixed eyes" regular version released in the Race O Rama series.

According to World of Cars Drive-In, Milton actually has a whole background/bio (which is funny for how he's hardly in the film) that says that he:
"...loved cruising around town, greeting and being greeted as he made his way to nowhere in particular. He worked at the courthouse in Radiator Springs but purposely bought a house at the other end of town just so he could run into more folks as he made his way to and from work"

Haven't gotten Milton yet? Be sure to pick him up on Amazon or on eBay below (since he's obviously not available in stores anymore):
Cars: Milton Calypeer

Stay tuned, tomorrow I'll be finishing off this retro theme and starting a new one on Tuesday. Many more cars to come!

Cars: Mildred Bylane

If you've been following my blog posts this week, you know that the theme I've been going with has been the "Our Town" retro Radiator Springs scene from Cars. Continuing with that, here is Mildred Bylane! During the scene in the film, Mildred can be briefly seen coming out of Guido's and Luigi's shop having just bought new tires (screen shot above).

Mildred is a 1:55 scale vehicle from Mattel. He has a really cool and unique design so I was really happy when he got his first release last year.

Chances are, this car has been since sold out at your local store but he's still very new and easy to find online if you were interested in picking him up. You can snag him on Amazon or eBay below:
Pixar Cars: Mildred Bylane

As usual, thanks so much for stopping by and supporting my blog! Be sure to check back daily for more items from my Pixar collection. Many more cars to come!

Cars: Brand New Mater

Following this week's retro Radiator Springs "Our Town" theme, here's "brand new Mater" from the original Mattel Cars 2006 diecast line! Mater is 1:55 scale in size.

This scene from Cars is really the emotional core of the film. There is so much heart to this scene (and song) and seeing Mater as a younger, "new" car was such a brilliant touch.

Brand new Mater has been released in just about every line that Mattel has released even up to this year, so he's definitely not rare or hard to come by. In fact, this Mater was just re-released again as part of the 2014 "World of Cars" line and can easily be found at a store near you.

If you can't seem to find him at the store, you can pick him up on Amazon or eBay with the link below:
Cars: Brand New Mater

Thanks for stopping by the blog and be sure to check back daily for more!
