Inside Out: Rainbow of Emotions (Coloring/Activity Book)

Kids will love this Inside Out "Rainbow of Emotions" coloring book! It's filled with puzzles, activities and, of course, many pages to color. Also included here is a pretty cool chunky rainbow colored pencil that writes in four different colors (red, yellow, blue and green).

This book is 128 pages and retails for $7.99.

Check out some of the inside of the book below!

Well, that's pretty much it with this. Short and sweet! It's a very standard coloring/activity book, so there isn't much to report here- but it's still fun nonetheless and great for young kids who are fans of the film! It's recommended for ages 3-7.

Inside Out: Disney Store "5 in 1" Puzzle

Sold now exclusively at the Disney Store, here we have the new Disney·Pixar Inside Out "5 in 1 Puzzle"! This is a boxed set of five separate cardstock jigsaw puzzles featuring all your favorite emotions from the film- Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust.

Joy has 32 pieces (measures 13.1" x 10.2"), Sadness has 25 pieces (measures 9" x 19.6"), Anger has 26 pieces (measures 8.1" x 7.5"), Fear has 26 pieces (measures 10.7" x 5.8")and Disgust has 26 pieces (measures (9.5" x 6.4"). Each puzzle is recommended for ages 3+.

I love the box these puzzles come in and the designs of the puzzles themselves. Once again, they are the same minimal character designs that we've seen on much of the Inside Out merch.

Notice the convenient carry handle with the reversible puzzle piece tag. On one side is Joy and on the other side is the film's logo. Classy little detail!

I haven't had the time to sit down and actually build each of these puzzles yet, but here's a peak at each individually packaged puzzle outside of the box-

This set retails for just $9.95, but is currently sold out on the Disney Store's website. If you have a local Disney Store, you could check there for availability or visit Amazon.com using the direct link below. They actually have this in stock (and Prime)! Whether you're a kid or a kid at heart who loves puzzles, you'll love these. Definitely get this if you have the chance.

Monsters Inc: Hot Topic Men's Tee

Over the past year or two, Hot Topic stores have released an impressive collection of exclusive Disney·Pixar merch. I've grown super fond of their t-shirts and tend to get many of them that catch my eye. One of the latest releases, and probably one of my favorite Pixar shirt designs of all time, is this fantastic Monsters Inc. "Monsters and Me" tee! This was released pretty recently.

I absolutely love the very minimal, textured graphic on this shirt featuring Mike, Sulley and Boo. I would actually love this on a poster!

As with all the Hot Topic tees I've purchased, this is a quality, comfortable, soft and nicely fitted shirt- just how I like them. If you're a fan of Monsters Inc. and want to wear it proud, then this is the shirt for you. You'll never find another one like this.

Head over to HotTopic.com to purchase HERE, but hurry before they're gone. Once they're out, shirt designs rarely come back.

Thanks for dropping by! Be sure to check back daily for more from my personal collection of Pixar merch and memories.

Pixar Collection: Studio Store Pencil & Sticker

Directly from the Pixar Studio Store in Emeryville, CA, here we have a couple of cool little trinkets— a Pixar Animation Studios sticker and pencil! A huge thanks to my good friends T.J. and Julie (from PixarPost.com) who picked these up for me during there recent visit to Pixar (when attending the Inside Out press event...lucky guys)! It was super generous of them to think of me and I really appreciate it.

These are super simple items, but slap the Pixar logo on anything and sell them exclusively at the studio and I'm instantly sold. These really are great and will definitely be a prized part of my collection. Having these is really the closest thing I can get to being at the actual studio!

Check 'em out-

Inside Out: DK Ultimate Sticker Book

Who doesn't love stickers? New from DK Publishing, here we have the Disney·Pixar Inside Out Ultimate Sticker Book! In true sticker book fashion, this release has a plethora of fun stickers (62 to be exact) based on characters and key moments from the film. It's up to you to find out where a particular sticker goes based on the silhouette and brief description. It's definitely a fun activity for kids!

The one thing possibly considered a downside is that there aren't very many pages. I think it's totally fine, but just in case you were expecting more, there are just 11 pages total. Four pages of stickers and seven pages for placing the stickers. I just thought I'd bring that up since I've noticed it was a common complaint with this.

Also, they say that the stickers are reusable ("Don't forget that your stickers can be stuck down and peeled off again"), but I've found that they're actually pretty hard to get off once put down. They are paper stickers after all and aren't vinyl like Colorforms (so they can rip easily).

Check out some of the pages you can expect below!

Whether you're a kid, have kids or are a kid at heart (like myself), this is a fun addition to any Inside Out fan's collection. It's nothing fancy, but it's very cute. If you've gotten these sticker books before, then you know exactly what to expect. If you're just wanting a bunch of Inside Out stickers, then this book is worth it just for the 62 you get with this!

You can find this in stores or on Amazon using the link below. Have fun!

Inside Out: Disney Store Mug Collection

Here we have the full collection of six phenomenal Inside Out character mugs sold now exclusively at the Disney Store! The moment I saw these when I walked into the store (back on their release date of May 4th), I was sold. Done- no questions.

Each of these ceramic mugs feature the amazing minimal designs that is seen on much of the Inside Out merch. I absolutely can't get enough of it- it's too good and exactly the style I love. I also love how each one is a different shape and size and how wonderful the colors look when displayed all together. They are sold individually for $12.95 each, are all microwave and dishwasher safe and feel very durable (quality made with a nice glossy finish).

As if these couldn't get any cooler, turn each one around for a quote specific to each character! They aren't all necessarily exact quotes from the film, but more of just general sayings related to each personality. Check them all out in more detail below with specific specs:

Joy-  5 1/4'' H x 3 3/8'' Diameter (4 1/2'' W at handle) and holds about 8 oz.

Disgust-  4'' H x 4'' Diameter (5'' W at handle) and holds about 16 oz.

Anger- 3 1/2'' H x 3 3/4'' W (5 1/4'' W at handle) x 3 3/4'' D and holds about 18 oz.

 Fear- 5 1/4'' H x 3 1/4'' Diameter (5'' W at handle) and holds about 12 oz.

Sadness- 4'' H x 3 3/4'' Diameter (5'' W at handle) and holds about 12 oz.

Bing Bong- 4 1/4'' H x 3 1/2'' Diameter (5 1/2'' W at handle) and holds about 16 oz.

It's hard to choose, but I might have to go with the Bing Bong mug as my personal fave. I just love the look, the candy on the back and- whoever thought of using his trunk as the handle was brilliant! Such a cool design element.

Once these are gone, they'll be gone for good I'm sure; so be sure to pick yours up soon if you can! I can see these becoming pretty rare and sought after someday. If you're a big fan of the film, you'll most definitely want these for your collection. I personally got mine just for display, but of course they are practical mugs you can sip from ;)

Visit your local Disney Store to pick them up or their online store HERE. Highly recommended!

Cars 2: Mater with Allinol Cans, Edamame Tsashimi & Daisu Tsashimi 3-Pack

Brand new for 2015, here we have this fantastic Mattel 1:55 scale 3-pack featuring Mater (with Allinol Cans), Edamame Tsashimi and Daisu Tsashimi! This release are part of this year's "Tokyo Party" sub-series (#s 7&8 / 10).

As shown in the screen shot above, Mater appears this way in Cars 2 (excited expression, back full of Allinol cans) during the Tokyo party scene when he ventures off to find some free food. He comes across some sushi chefs- Edamame and Daisu Tsashimi- when he pleads for a big scoop of wasabi (mistaking it for pistachio ice cream). A hilarious scene!

I have been looking forward to (well, hoping for) the Mattel release of these sushi chefs for a long time. It's such a memorable scene in the film, so I knew these pitties would be coming around eventually! They turned out great too. I love the film accurate details such as their bandanas, facial expressions, knives and the little bowl of wasabi that Daisu is holding.

I honestly never thought of releasing a Mater with a back full of Allinol cans before, but it's actually a perfect addition to this pack! It's a fun new version of Mater with great detail and a film accurate expression. Now you can create the whole scene accurately with your diecasts.

Here's to hoping a "Wasabi Tongue" diecast Mater gets a single pack release soon!

I found these at my local Target just a week or two ago, so be sure to check your local stores for availability. If you'd rather just snag this release online, check out eBay HERE or Amazon using the link below. Good luck on the hunt everyone!

Toy Story: The Legacy Collection Soundtrack Review

The music that Randy Newman created for the original Toy Story is undoubtedly a work of genius. It set the tone and precedence for, not only Toy Story, but all the Pixar films that would follow. He was able to bring such a unique sound and feel to the film that captured the magic of what was happening visually on screen, while telling the amazing story of Woody and Buzz through beautiful (and memorable) musical themes and lyrical songs. The heart and emotion of Toy Story would not be quite the same without the involvement of Randy Newman.

In celebration of this year's 20th anniversary of Toy Story (yes, it's hard to believe it's been that long), Walt Disney Records has released their brand new 2 disc "The Legacy Collection" soundtrack for the film. This is the long awaited "complete score" that fans have been hoping for for years.

When any standard soundtrack/score is released, typically that score is not the complete score we hear while watching the movie. It's usually mostly made up of the most memorable musical cues and moments. When a "complete score" like this is released, it includes every piece of music heard in the film from start to finish. Not only that, but this release also has a second disc of bonus content- but more on that later in the post. It's really a remarkable thing to finally have!

So what does this "Legacy Collection" CD set include? A lot actually- it's a Pixar fan's dream! With that said, lets start digging into this great collector's piece.

First all, the front and back cover art. Wow, these simple illustrations are so tastefully done. They're done in a very classy style which I was drawn to (yes pun) as soon as I saw this product listed online. This CD case alone will most definitely be proudly displayed amongst other favorites from my Toy Story collection.

On the inside of the case you'll find 24 pages of all sorts of fun material. First there are three pages of liner notes by John Lasseter as he reflects on his experience working with Randy Newman. It's a great behind the scenes write-up (dated April 2015).

The next three pages are more liner notes; this time from Randy Newman's perspective as he also thoughtfully reflects on his time creating the music for the original Toy Story and working with John Lasseter (dated February 2015). I really love hearing the story behind the music.

There are then two pages featuring the lyrics to "You've Got a Friend in Me", "Strange Things" and "I Will Go Sailing No More", followed by orchestra musician credits. All of these pages have adorable little illustrations of the toys scattered throughout (by the same cover art artist Lorelay Bove).

Then we have a bunch of pages of original Toy Story concept art and color scripts (nothing, I don't think, that hasn't been seen before; but it fits very well here in this booklet). Check out some of them below:

Now onto the CDs themselves. Disc 1 (51 songs, 1 Hour 7 Minutes long) is made up of the actual remastered soundtrack from the film. Like I said earlier, what's cool is that there are many moments of the score here that have never been released until now (I don't know which moments though, since I haven't compared this side by side with the original release). On another note, the tracks are also much shorter than on a standard soundtrack release (most of them being under two minutes; many even under one minute).

Disc 2 (8 songs, 22 minutes long) includes some really exclusive stuff that I don't think I've personally heard anywhere until this release. The first four tracks are Randy Newman's piano/vocal demos of "Strange Things", "Plastic Spaceman", "I Will Go Sailing No More" and "The Fool".

I had never heard of "Plastic Spaceman" or "The Fool"  before, so that was a nice surprise for me! Randy Newman, in regards to "Plastic Spaceman" said: "This comes out out of the TV. It's the theme song for Buzz." Listening to the lyrics, it seems like it was an earlier, less memorable take on what ended up being "I Will Go Sailing No More." Really interesting to listen to!

The same goes for "The Fool." That one seems like an earlier, less memorable (and less fun) version of "Strange Things." Both songs share of the same basic theme of being replaced and outshined.

The second half of Disc 2 features the instrumental versions of "You've Got a Friend in Me", "Strange Things" and "I Will Go Sailing No More." It's really quite cool to hear these songs without the vocals so that you can really hear and appreciate the brilliant orchestra arrangements. When listening to these songs without the lyrics, I was able to notice aspects of those songs I hadn't ever noticed before. The disc concludes with an archive recording of Randy Newman and John Lasseter thanking the orchestra.

There you go! I know I say this all the time, but this is an absolute must have for Disney·Pixar fans and collectors. If you love Toy Story, then you will love what this this set has to offer. Be sure to pick it up on Amazon using the direct link below and be sure to check back daily for more from my Pixar collection!
