Happy Halloween, everyone! Tonight I’m continuing my documentation of the latest "spooky" cars in my collection—and this time, I’m taking a closer look at Space Creature Lightning McQueen (or some might say "Ghost Lightning McQueen" or "Alien Lightning McQueen")!
As shown in the screenshot above, McQueen takes on the appearance of a "space creature" in the fourth episode of Cars on the Road, The Legend.
This is a 1:55 scale diecast from Mattel, released in 2024’s Singles Case C, featuring a removable plastic space creature cover. What makes it especially exciting is that the McQueen diecast underneath is a brand-new variant of Cryptid Buster McQueen, minus the gear and featuring a new expression. It's such a well-done, unique, and very cool release all around!
Honestly, this one was tough for me to track down. I never actually spotted it in stores, so I finally had to break down and grab one on eBay a few months back. If you’re looking to add this McQueen to your Pixar Cars diecast collection, that’s probably your best bet at this point as well.
