Cars: Bug Mouth Lightning Mcqueen

In 2013, Mattel re-released "Bug Mouth Lightning Mcqueen" (a 1:55 scale diecast) in their Toys R Us exclusive Radiator Spring Classic collection. Previously, he had been released in the Race O Rama, Supercharged and World of Cars series, so he's hit the shelves quite a few times.

As shown in the screen shot above, this version of Mcqueen is based off the scene in the film when Lightning gets some bugs splattered on his teeth during his relaxing drive with Sally

This car isn't currently available, but if you're still looking ti add Bug Mouth Mcqueen to your Disney/Pixar Cars collection, be sure to stop by Amazon or eBay for the best deals! He shouldn't be too hard to find at all.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back daily for more items from my ever expanding Pixar collection!

Cars: Paint Mask Lightning Mcqueen

From Mattel, here we have the 1:55 scale diecast Paint Mask Lightning Mcqueen from a few years back! This is a "lenticular eyes" car (meaning his eyes change when moving him back and forth) and is also a "chase" edition, which means fewer quantities were made. This version of Mcqueen was only released in this series.

In the film, Lightning is seen this way when he is in Ramone's House of Body Art getting his new Radiator Spring paint job

Are you a Disney/Pixar Cars collector who still needs this as part of your collection? Look no further than eBay or Amazon soon for the best deasl!

Toy Story: Hatch 'n Heroes (Part 1- Buzz Lightyear & Woody)

From Bandai, here we have their brand new collection of Disney•Pixar transformable toys called Hatch 'n Heroes! These were revealed in February at the 2015 Toy Fair and were just released in stores not too long ago in time for Easter.

These are fun and unique little toys. They start off in the shape of an egg, but as you fold out the various tucked away parts (very similar to Transformers), they become little figures of iconic Pixar characters you know and love!

 Woody before...

...and after!

 Now here's Buzz before...

...and after! Yah, admittedly he's a bit chunky (hilariously so),but it's part of the charm of this kind of toy!

I really like these. They really are quite creative. I had fun transforming them and seeing how many parts they were able to pack into such a little oval shape.

In addition to these two, Finding Nemo Dory and Nemo ones were released as well (see that post HERE). Later this year, additional characters will be available such as Rex, Pizza Planet Alien, Bullseye, Lightning Mcqueen, The King, Mater and Francesco Bernoulli. You can view those on Bandai's press release site HERE. Really looking forward to them! If you're looking to buy these, check your local Toys R Us (that's where I found mine) or online at their website, eBay or Amazon.

These really did make a perfect Easter basket gift. I'm glad my wife was all for them when we saw them at the store and that we both couldn't resist... A big thanks to her!

Toy Story of Terror: Mr. Jones Plush

When Toy Story of Terror (Disney·Pixar's first made for TV half hour film) was released in the fall of 2013, one of the new characters, Mr. Jones the dog-like iguana, was an instant hit among viewers. His look, his personality and the overall animation done on this character were nothing short of fantastic. Though the toys saw him as an evil and vicious monster who was snatching up the toys one by one, Mr. Jones was ultimately a cute pet, just doing the bidding of his owner Ron the Sleep Well Motel manager.

Within the last month, Toy R Us stores released a new exclusive line of plush from "Just Play Toys"...one of them being the fan favorite Angel Kitty from Toy Story That Time Forgot (see post HERE) and the other being Mr. Jones!

This plush is made of a very nice, soft material with some stiffer materials used throughout for his claws and crests. He does include his little collar, but it doesn't say "Mr. Jones" like it does in the film. Overall, this quality plush has some great details and a very decent likeness to the actual character.

He's fairly small, measuring about 12 inches long, and retails for $9.99.

You can find this plush in stores now or on the Toys R Us website HERE. You can also find him on eBay using this direct link or Amazon using the link below. Highly recommended!

The Incredibles: Thinkway Toys Syndrome Figure

Last fall, Thinkway Toys released an exciting line of Disney·Pixar products- sold exclusively at Toys R Us stores. One of the items released was this very, very cool Syndrome collectible figure!

This is a detailed, poseable, [approximately] six inch plastic "Deluxe Action Figure" (except, no action features), complete with multiple points of articulation, a display stand/base and some snap-on accessories.

While this is a well made product, I can see it possibly breaking if given to kids too young. With the $19.99 price tag (a bit too expensive if you ask me, luckily I got this one on sale), I'd say this is best suited for older kids and/or adult collectors. Since there are no action features, young kids might not find this a very entertaining toy.

The display stand is such an awesome touch to this figure. It's perfect for those who love to display their collectibles (like me), not to mention Syndrome looks wickedly cool "hovering" in the air with his flaming "Aero Boots" and his villainous action poses. The inclusion of the "laser" that can be attached to his utility gauntlet adds another level of awesomeness to this figure as well. He looks straight out of the film!

Interchangeable boots and hands, as well as an additional laser, are also included.

Look for other characters in this collection, such as Wall·E, Eve, Bruce, Nemo and Mr. Incredible. Additional reviews of these will be right here soon! You can find this line of figures at Toys R Us stores right now, but unfortunately this one is sold out on the Toys R Us website.

This figure is probably one of the coolest items I have from The Incredibles. It's so unique- there's not another Syndrome figure out there like it. I most definitely recommend this for any fan of the film!

Also, a big thanks and shout out to my thoughtful wife Brita who hooked me up with this one as an Easter present! I had been looking forward to getting this one for a while and it doesn't disappoint.

Finding Nemo: Hallmark Word Cutout

In the late fall of last year, Hallmark stores released a fantastic line of adorable decorative Disney·Pixar products. When I stumbled upon the section at the store, I was immediately drawn to just about everything there- including this Finding Nemo themed word cutout piece! This memorable quote from the film, "find a happy place", is of course said by Peach the starfish; when Darla (the "fish killer") taps on the fish tank glass.

This is a great, really well made piece for any Finding Nemo fan's shelf or desk at home or at the office. It measures 5" W x 2.5" H x 1" D, is made of a resin type material and retails for $16.95.

You can find this at Hallmark stores now or online right HERE.

To see the rest of this Hallmark line in my collection (if you missed my previous posts), search "Hallmark" in the search bar to the right.

Thanks for dropping by! If you're a Pixar fan who loves to collect merch, this is the place for you. Be sure to come back daily to see more of my ever expanding Pixar collection.

Toy Story: Buzz & Zurg Funko BLOX

For years now, I've been a fan of the vinyl collectible craze that has been going over the last decade or so. Mighty Muggs, Vinylmations, Funko POP!, ect...you name it! I tend to gravitate to the cool, stylized character look that vinyl products typically bring to the table; not to mention they're great for adult collectors to display.

Funko brand is usually best known for there "POP!" line of vinyl figures and bobble heads, but in 2011 they released an additional (and lesser known) vinyl series called "BLOX". BLOX stand around 7" tall (they're a bit bigger than the POP! vinyls), feature distinctive cut-out styling, with sculpted details and are relatively flat.

Now jump to late summer 2012 when Funko introduced two great new characters to their BLOX line...Buzz Lightyear and Zurg! Somehow these slipped under the radar for me, but as soon as I saw them recently, I knew they needed to be a part of my collection.

When I opened these guys up, I was first really surprised how tall they were. I was expecting a Funko POP! size character, but these stand much higher. I absolutely love their unique boxy look; it's different than any other collectible I own. Everything from the colors to the facial expressions is just fantastic to me.

Currently, these are the only Pixar characters in the BLOX collection. While the back of the box does show a Sulley release (which I'd love to own), he's nowhere to be found for purchase online. Additionally, there are two Sulley 2012 SDCC Funko BLOX out there as well, but they're strangely colored orange and green (apparently representing the art of Monsters Inc.).

If you'd like to add these fun vinyl figures to your Disney·Pixar collection, be sure to head to eBay HERE or Amazon using the links below. They originally retailed for about $20, but they sell now for $13-$14 or less which is very reasonable.

A big thanks to my parents for hooking me up with these in my Easter package!

Cars: Lost in the Desert Mini & Van 2-pack

Here we have yet another brand new Disney·Pixar Cars release...Lost in the Desert Mini and Lost in the Desert Van movie moments 2-pack! I've been having some fantastic luck lately finding the latest Cars releases. I'm completely caught up for the year as of now! There was lull for a month or two there earlier this year, but now things seem to be back in full swing; found this one at Walmart this morning.

As usual, these are 1:55 scale diecasts from Mattel and are numbers 16/19 and 17/19 of the 2015 "Radiator Springs" sub-series.

Van and Mini are of course first seen in Cars when they come rolling through Radiator Springs lost and looking for the freeway entrance. Van humorously denies wanting to use a map or ask for directions (classic male stereotype). What you might not have known is that they are both seen again at the very end of the film (after the end credits, screen shot above) lost, dirty and wondering in the desert. It's a hilarious little gag that a lot of people have missed!

These cars are great. I love the dust and dirt paint job, their crazed expressions and all the weeds/brush popping out of Van's luggage carrier. This is a very fun and unique release.

Look for this set in stores now! If you'd rather just pick it up online, visit eBay using this direct link or Amazon using the link below. Happy hunting!

Toy Story That Time Forgot: Angel Kitty Plush

"The joy that you give to others, is the joy that comes back to you."

-Angel Kitty

On December 2nd, 2014, Disney·Pixar released their second fantastic Toy Story holiday television special on ABC; Toy Story: That Time Forgot. This half hour "Christmas" short (about 22 minutes without commercials) followed the successful "Halloween" Toy Story of Terror, which premiered in the Fall of 2013.

Before this film even premiered on TV, fans and collectors of the Toy Story franchise clamored for a chance to purchase their very own Angel Kitty plush; a now fan favorite character from That Time Forgot. Well, great news—she has now been released in stores as a Toys R Us exclusive from "Just Play Toys"! This plush was first available at the Pixar Studio store, which is of course not open to the public; I'm so happy and excited that we now have a wide release.

There's no doubt that Angel Kitty is one of the cutest characters in all the Toy Story films and Toons. Her adorable look, her soft voice and her simple words of wisdom scattered throughout the short make Angel Kitty an instantly classic and memorable character. Fans agree that we just wish we saw and heard more of her in the film!

I know Angel Kitty was my wife's absolute favorite part of That Time Forgot. Every time she was on screen, she would let out a big "awwwww." She now jokingly tries to claim this plush for herself because of the cuteness.

Moving on to the plush itself...

It's just about perfect. It's very well made with some good weight to it (its body is bean bag like, which helps it to be able to sit straight up), some nice stitching and a very decent likeness to the actual character.

The materials used for the dress, wings and ribbon bow are made from a variety of quality materials, while the halo and horn are a sturdy foam with a metallic gold covering (not metal/plastic as seen in the film, but that's forgivable as I'm sure the makers of this plush wanted to keep this toy as soft as possible). The only hard plastic used here are the eyes.

The plush stands at about 6" tall (about 8" if you count the halo) and retails for $9.99.

This plush has been starting to show up at Toys R Us stores nation wide over the last month, so you should be able to find it with ease. If you'd like to call your local store for availability, its UPC number is 886144211607. If you'd rather just pick it up online, visit Toysrus.com, eBay using this direct link, or Amazon using the link below. You won't be disappointed!

Events: Inside Out Themed Easter Eggs

Happy Easter everyone!

A few weeks back, I had the idea of doing an Inside Out theme when my wife and I decorated our hard boiled Easter eggs this year. I thought the colors of the emotion characters-Sadness, Joy, Anger, Disgust and Fear-would work absolutely fantastic as Easter eggs!

I guess I wasn't the only one who thought that would be a great idea though...a couple of days ago the official Inside Out Twitter account tweeted some "egg-stravagant decorating tips" featuring the Inside Out emotions as Easter eggs; "egg-xactly" what I was picturing. It worked out though since we ended up using their great designs as the inspiration! Using glitter was a perfect idea because of how the characters actually kind of sparkle in the film.

I couldn't have done this without my talented and crafty wife Brita, so I have to give her huge props. I definitely can't take the credit! She did most of the intricate glue and glitter work with toothpicks and, needless to say, I was very impressed.

Here's some pics when we first started (the night before Easter):

Today we finished them up and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. I'll feel bad peeling and eating them tomorrow after all this hard work!

Which one is your favorite? For me, I'd have to say Anger- perfection.

Be sure to check out more of our Pixar related "events" by exploring the label to the right of this page (including last year's egg dying festivities).

Thanks for dropping by and be sure to come back here daily for more items from my ever expanding collection of Pixar merch and memories!
