Me at six years old |
Welcome to my blog! My name is Dan Taylor—here's a little about me in a nutshell! I'm 32 years old, I currently live in my hometown of Stratford CT, I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a degree in Communications/Video Production, I'm married to the love of my life and, you guessed it, I'm a HUGE fan of all things Pixar!
My Love for Pixar— I was five years old when Toy Story arrived in theaters. That's when it all started. Though I don't specifically remember sitting there and watching the film up on the silver screen for the first time, I do know I became a fan almost instantaneously. And since my love for toys was already innate in me, it wasn't long before I started to collect all of the Toy Story characters that I could get my hands on. And like most kids out there who saw Toy Story for the first time at such a young and impressionable age, I even tried to make my room just like Andy's (including the cardboard buildings which my mom helped me make). Basically Toy Story and my childhood are synonymous.

As the years went on, I continued to look forward to (and love) every Pixar film that came out. The hits just kept on coming. Even as a young kid, I understood that the quality of Pixar films rivaled most of what was out there in terms of animation/storytelling and I grew attached to their iconic characters, tasteful humor, relatable heartfelt stories, sentimentality and signature Pixar charm we've now all grown accustomed to. Long story short, that same passion for the Pixar films and merchandise continues with me even to this day. As an adult, I find joy in displaying my collection and have had fun sharing sharing all my Pixar toys with my nieces and nephews over the years (they always use to love coming over to "Uncle Danny's" room to play). Now at this point (as of this 2022 update), I have my two year old son Aidan who's also a fan of everything Pixar (how'd that happen?). He genuinely LOVES the films, the shorts and all the Pixar toys I've saved for him over my many years of collecting and I've had an absolute blast finally sharing my passion for Pixar and the toys with one of my own. He's seriously my best little friend—a "mini me" if you will—and is everything I always hoped for; a real dream come true! Getting to relive my childhood through him (in way) has been truly magical.
