Toy Story 4: Forky Talking Action Figure (by Thinkway Toys)

forky talking action figure thinkway review

Hey everyone! Back in April, I posted a one-stop guide to all the different Forky toys to help collectors decide which one was the one for them (see guide HERE). As far as my personal collection, since I wasn't about to purchase every Forky toy ever made (there are just too many of them), I had to narrow down my top favorites—one of them being this 8" tall Forky Talking Action Figure by Thinkway Toys! Thanks to my friends over at Thinkway and Disney Consumer Products, I finally have this one to review for you in more detail.

This is a good mid-sized Forky with sounds, wheels, silly wobbly movements and actual googly eye style eyes. Thinkway did a really great job capturing his quirkiness and likeness! Of course at 8" tall, he's not a movie accurate size, but it's a great option if you wanted a larger Forky (but not the largest) to play with or display.

Press the button on the side of his "dough" base to hear 15 sayings:
  • "Sooo... what should we do today? Hop in a trash can maybe? That might be niiiceeee..."
  • "Oh I love being in the trash. It's warm, cozy, kind of stinky and SAFE."
  • "Wait! I have feelings!" *giggles*
  • "Being a spork and alive is really fun!"
  • "Do doo doo doooo..." 🎵
  • "I got a question, why am I here at all?"
  • "Bla, bla. bla, bla, bla, bla..."
  • "You're not making any sense."
  • "Carry me?"
  • "Bum ba ba da ba" 🎵
  • "Who are you? I mean, what are you?"
  • "You're just like me...TRASH!"
  • "I'm NOT a toy. I am a spork."
  • "I'm uhhh...Forky?"
  • "I was made for soup, salad, maybe chili and then the trash!"
See the video I posted on Twitter HERE to hear some of these sayings and get a sense of how this toy moves. As you can tell, his sound system is loud and clear featuring Forky's original voice actor, Tony Hale.

Here's Forky unboxed! Looking great huh? While the rainbow sticker on his Popsicle stick was a nice touch, this version of Forky doesn't have "Bonnie" written on the bottom of his sticks or the Pizza Planet logo on the back of the spork itself—two small details that the Disney Store version got right (which I'll also be reviewing soon). So yah, I wouldn't say this is the definitive Forky, but it's definitely one of my favorites regardless.

One thing I wish here with this one is that rolling Forky along would actually trigger the wobbling movements as the packaging suggests. While he can wobble side to side (and his arms wobble up and down), this does not really happen by rolling him. You need to manually wobble him yourself while pushing to get any of that wacky movement. It's also not a "pull-back" toy, so don't expect that either. That's really my only main nitpick though. Other than that, this Forky is super fun and feels sturdy/quality made overall (yet very lightweight)—perfect for kids ages 4+.

Retail price is $29.99. You can pick this up at your local Target (online HERE) or Amazon using the direct link below. What are your thoughts? What's your favorite Forky toy out there so far? Let me know what you think and any questions you might have down in the comments.

Toy Story 4: Giggle McDimples Pet Patrol Playset Review

toy story 4 giggle mcdimples toy playset
"Officer Giggle McDimples. I run Pet Patrol for Miniopolis, yah search and rescue. Ants, caterpillars, miniature poodles, spiders..."

As seen in Toy Story 4, here we have Giggle McDimples and her Pet Patrol Playset! Mattel did an amazing job replicating the exact toy we see in the film, down to almost every miniature detail (view clip HERE and see for yourself). I was so thrilled to see this was being made and had to get it for my Toy Story replica collection!

Unfortunately, the packaging got a little destroyed in the mail coming from Amazon, hence why my photos show the cardback a bit crinkled. Other than that, the quality of the product is top-notch.

Now that it's out of the package, here's the outside of the playset when it's closed...

toy story 4 giggle mcdimples toy playset

...and here it is opened up! I love all the bright colors and the classic 80's/90's "Polly Pocket" inspired feel. Everything gets stored inside and is very small and compact.

You can spin Giggle's patrol car around her driveway, just like in the movie! Grab hold of the middle fountain and spin away. And yes, her front gate even opens just as it should.

As far as size, from looking at photos and the video clip, both this playset and Giggle herself seem completely movie accurate. The playset measures about 5.5" tall and Giggle measures 1.25" tall.

Literally the only aspect of this set that is not movie accurate is that Giggle doesn't have a rotating head to reveal her sunglasses look. Other than that, everything here is pretty perfect. I can highly recommend this to all Toy Story collectors, young or old. It's a must-have.

As mentioned, I ordered this from Amazon for its retail price of $14.99. I've actually never seen this in stores, so that's how I recommend buying. I've included the direct link below if you're interested! Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments.

Toy Story 4 At Disney Store Times Square

disney store times square toy story 4

Hey all! Last Thursday, I took the train into NYC to attend the 2019 TTPM Holiday showcase. While I was there in the city, I couldn't help but seek out and pop into the giant, two story Disney Store in Times Square since it wasn't too far from the event! Though they didn't have any exclusive Toy Story 4 merch to buy (it's all the same stuff you've seen at your local Disney Store and online), their unique TS4 stage set was on point and I just had to document it.

For example, how fun is this giant Forky?! Check him out below as well as the other oversized display pieces, like Sheriff Woody, Peas in a Pod and a Bucket O Soldiers. I guess when you have a larger than life store, you need some larger than life characters!

Don't forget to pre-order Toy Story 4 HERE (or at you nearest Disney Store) and get this FREE lithograph set; available digitally on October 1st and on Blu-ray/DVD on October 8th.

With Halloween right around the corner, of course all the Toy Story 4 costumes were out on display as well.

I had to take a pic of this super cute window with the Buzz and Woody silhouettes, which is right by the escalator...

And this art featuring Buzz, which is near the ground level checkout.

Well, that's about all I wanted to say! I'm keeping things short and sweet tonight— mostly I just wanted to preserve what this Disney Store looked like there with their Toy Story 4 section and share all the epicness with you. I'll catch you here again real soon with another review! Stay tuned.

Have you been to the Disney Store Times Square? Shout out your memories/experiences down below.

Toy Story: Flannel Logo Shirt & Sheriff Woody Hat (by Cakeworthy)

toy story flannel shirt cakeworthy

You know what that chilly breeze outside means? Fall is in the air here in Connecticut and I'm so ready for my favorite time of year! Thanks to Cakeworthy, I now have this stylish new flannel long sleeve shirt to wear this season and show off my love for Toy Story at the same time. How cool is this design? I really love the autumnal yellow with the navy blue and red colors—not to mention the striking pencil sketch style Toy Story logo on the back and characters down the sleeve. So unique!

I'm pretty picky when it comes to flannels (and button-up shirts in general), so I was impressed with how much I like the fit of this one. It's pretty soft (100% cotton) and has a decently slim cut, which I prefer. Everything here honestly works perfect for both men and women and the shirt is listed as a unisex fit. As far as the mentioned characters, a Pizza Planet Alien, Hamm, Rex, Slinky and Buzz are featured down the left sleeve. The minimal sketches are both tasteful and playful.

You might have noticed that awesome Sheriff Woody snapback hat I'm wearing in the first photo as well. Once again, a big thank you to Cakeworthy for the gift! The yellow plaid and cow print design is of course inspired by Woody's signature shirt and vest; and then you have his iconic Sheriff badge and name written in rope! Fantastic design overall—I think a lot of adult fans will absolutely love this one. Again, I'm picky when it comes to hats (I've never owned a flat billl before) and even I really like how it fits!

Note: There is an adjustable plastic backstrap. One size will fit most (also listed as unisex).

You can pick up the flannel on Cakeworthy's site HERE or ShopDisney.com HERE for $49.95. Same thing for the hat, you can purchase it at Cakeworthy HERE or ShopDisney.com HERE. I can highly recommend both if they're your style! Be sure to leave your thoughts down below and check out the rest of Cakeworthy's fun Toy Story collection HERE.

Toy Story 4: Build-a-Forky Fridge Magnets + Ducky & Bunny Patch (D23 Expo 2019)

d23 expo forky magnet set and ducky & bunny patch

Hi everyone! Tonight I'm here with another quick post to document some more cool Toy Story 4 freebies I was able to pick up at the D23 Expo last month: a super cute Ducky & Bunny adhesive patch AND a Build-a-Forky magnet sheet featuring seven punch out magnet pieces (celebrating the upcoming home video release). These were given out in and around the Pixar booth if you happened to be there at the right time and talk to the right person.

From what I'm seeing people say, the Forky magnet set is also being handed out at Disney Store locations nationwide (to guests who participate in certain events or pre-order the Blu-ray). If you're interested in getting it for yourself, be sure to talk to your local Disney Store to see if they have this promotional item available. And don't forget, Toy Story 4 will be available to own digitally on October 1st and on Blu-ray/DVD October 8th! That's just right around the corner. SO exciting!

d23 expo disney store forky magnet set

I gave the Forky magnet set to my nephew Noah (he LOVES the character) and we had so much fun punching out the pieces and arranging them on the fridge there at my sister's house. We made happy Forky, mad Forky and...let's just say you can get pretty creative—and we did. It got pretty weird! Good times, good laughs.

Were you able to get these while attending the expo? If not, there are a few listings on eBay currently for both the magnet set and the patch. Let me know your thoughts on these down below!

Toy Story 4: Forky Costume Review (by Disguise)

toy story 4 disguise forky costume review

"I'M TRASH!"

With Halloween right around the corner, it's time to start making some final decisions on costumes...and I'm sure TONS of kids (and even some adults?) are going to want to be everyone's favorite trash-turned-toy spork, Forky from Toy Story 4! If so, this right here is the costume to pick up. A big thank you to the costume masters themselves, Disguise, for sending this over to review!

This is a simple two piece costume set featuring a soft, 100% polyester jumpsuit (with foam faux buttons and velcro fasteners down the back) and a classic plastic half mask with adjustable strap. I love how they gave the chest/arms that printed texture to give off that pipe cleaner look—and of course they wouldn't miss the rainbow detail on his popsicle sticks.

toy story 4 disguise forky costume review

Since I wasn't about to squeeze into this costume to model it for you all, I ordered a size S (4-6) for my six year old nephew Noah to keep and it fits him perfectly. I knew he'd be SO excited for this since he's the world's biggest Forky fan! Below are the different sizing options:

·Boys XS (3T-4T)
·Boys S (4-6)
·Boys M (7-8)

toy story 4 disguise forky costume review

Here he is, standing right by his favorite thing in the whole wide world...TRASH! Carry me?

toy story 4 disguise forky costume review

Even though Noah isn't planning on being Forky for Halloween (that honor actually goes to Duke Caboom, who he also loves), this is still the perfect costume to have handy in his dress up trunk. He's been having so much fun wearing it around the house (especially while playing Toy Story) and quoting all his favorite lines.

Retail price ranges from $25-$40. You can find this costume right now at many different retailers, including (but not limited to): Target, ShopDisney and Amazon (using the link below). Be sure to check out the official Disguise page HERE and explore their many other hilarious and fun kid/adult Toy Story themed costumes HERE!

Does this costume crack you up as much as it does me? Did you ever think that a spork would become a popular Halloween costume one day? Leave all your thoughts and any questions you might have in the comments below. Enjoy!!

Toy Story 4: D23 Expo Exclusive "Forky Asks A Question" Lithograph

Debuting exclusively on Disney+ upon launch (November 12th), get ready for the Toy Story 4 inspired mini series Forky Asks A Question! If you thought Forky was hilarious and wanted to see more of him, you're in luck. These [approx.] four minute episodes will explore life after TS4 in Bonnie's room, with specific focus on Forky learning the ways of the world from all our favorite Toy Story pals.

I was lucky enough to see a full episode of Forky Asks A Question at this year's D23 Expo a couple weeks back and let me tell you...it's so funny and charming! You will love it. It seems each episode will follow the same formula, which is essentially Forky asking one of the original toys a "simple" life question; for example, the episode I saw featured Forky asking Hamm "What's money?"—and as you can probably imagine, Forky gets pretty distracted as Hamm tries to explain.

toy story forky asks a question d23 expo lithograph print

Also there at the expo, attendees could get their hands on an exclusive lithograph print and have it signed by the filmmakers! While I didn't have the opportunity to get any autographs, I was able to obtain the print thanks to my good friend Jeff (from This Day in Pixar). What's cool is that the print, seen above, features the first official still from the series and a peek at another episode! This image has not been released in any other way. Super cool right?

I'm especially excited to see this Rex centered episode, since he's always been one of my favorite Toy Story characters. My question for all of you is: what question will Forky ask Rex? Shout out your ideas and predictions down below! Can't wait to hear your thoughts.

If you're interested in grabbing one of these for your collection, be sure to check out eBay using this direct link to current listings (there are a couple on there right now).

Toy Story: Disney Parks Slinky Headband

disney parks toy story land slinky headband

Golly bob howdy! When Toy Story Land opened at Hollywood Studios on June 30th last year, of course there had to be some new unique, exclusive merch for guests to go crazy over. This adorable Toy Story inspired plush Slinky headband was one such thing and an instant hit! It didn't take long for this to be the trendiest new accessory to sport in your latest Instagram photo. Even now, from what I can tell, it's a pretty popular item.

This is a plush covered headband with a super soft Slinky plushie perched atop (though his eyes, nose, spring and tail are all plastic). One size will fit most, but the exact measurements are 8 3/5'' H x 12'' W x 2 5/6'' D. It's doggone cute for sure! Who doesn't love Slinky?

disney parks toy story land slinky headband

When my wife and I visited Disney World last fall, I spotted this at a couple locations within Hollywood Studios. First I saw it at the Beverly Sunset gift shop (which at the time was all Pixar toys, but probably not anymore since that store switches themes often). Below you can see my wife Brita modeling it! <3

Then of course it was all over the place in Toy Story Land as well. Below you can see it available at the Play Family Campus stand. Retail price was (and I believe still is) $27.99—which is pretty expensive if you ask me, but hey, that's Disney for you.

I was excited when I was gifted one (thank you Disney Parks!!) when I attended the Toy Story 4 press event back in June! I had to throw it up here on the blog to share with you all, even though I'm a little late to the party.

Let me know what you think below! Did you pick this up or plan to grab one for your next trip to Disney World or Disneyland? Just throwing it out there, this would be perfect for anyone Disneybounding as Slinky.
