What's up Pixar Cars fans!? For tonight's post, I'm taking a quick look at yet another fun Disney·Pixar Cars 3 Mattel 1:55 scale diecast. Here we have "Pileup", one of the Thunder Hollow Crazy 8 contestants seen in the the film. I was thrilled to have found this at Walmart a couple weeks ago!
Pileup is racing number 11 and is the car who enters the race backwards. He even has a shifty pair of eyes painted on his back to throw off the other demolition derby racers! Admittedly I only just noticed this when I watched the scene again to take the screenshot above.
I love collecting the demolition race cars. They're always so unique, colorful and detailed! This one is no exception. It looks great.

If you're a list maker like I am, then you probably can't ever have enough sticky note pads lying around. Am I right? Before you go load up on more of the basic, every day ones though, let me recommend these! I love the fact that these sticky notes literally come in a mini 3.5" square Pizza Planet pizza box. That sold it for me right there (and now I want Pizza Planet to be a real place even more). These are the perfect addition to any office/study desk!

Ready for one of the coolest Pixar toys out there right now? Check out this adorable LAVA Uku & Lele figurine by the Hong Kong based toy company Hot Toys! This is part of their popular "Cosbaby" line of stylized vinyl figurines and can only be found [currently] in China. I was able to purchase this a few weeks back from eBay for around $50 and free shipping! I'm not sure what the actual retail price is, but I felt that was fair enough.
It's crazy that it's already been two years since I first saw this revealed. In early 2016, a leaked photo of the prototype surfaced online from some show floor (not sure if it was some kind of toy convention?) along with other new Cosbaby figures. It then appeared in a Hot Toys product guide (seen HERE). I was ecstatic about it! From then on though, there was no word on a release date or any additional info. I waited and waited with hope that it actually become available, until I eventually came to terms with the fact that it wasn't coming.
Well, you know the end of this story. It finally came! What a huge surprise. This past October, Hot Toys officially revealed the product on their site and confirmed it was on its way in late 2017/early 2018. That of course proved to be true. And here it is!
First of all, I love the collectible packaging—very minimal and clean. The best part though is that it sings! Yup, when you open the box, it plays a one and a half minute excerpt from the film's classic song. Note: To clarify, the sound board/speaker is in the packaging itself, not the figurine. The figure does not make any sounds. To shut off the song, just close the box.
Here's what the figure looks like immediately upon opening! Just cut the plastic strip and remove the plastic covering and Uku and Lele come out very easily.
The inside of the box is just as stunning as the outside. How pretty right?
And here's the figure fully removed! It's pretty small, measuring about 3" tall and 4" long. The entire figure is molded vinyl with the really nice added touch of fuzzy material for the lush greens.
I also really like the translucent plastic used for the water at the base and for the "lava" seen within their tops! It's those little details that make this thing extra cool.
LAVA (Directed by long time Pixarian James Ford Murphy), debuted in theaters with Inside Out back in 2015. It has since become a favorite of many out there who adore
the stunning visuals, heartwarming story and memorable song! It's one
of my favorite Pixar shorts for sure and I'm thrilled to have it
represented in my collection. This was worth the wait.

Remember how rare of a treat it is to get any merch based on the short films! This is such a unique item and I don't want you to miss out on it.

For tonight's post, I'm taking a quick look at this awesome Toy Story Pizza Planet baseball style cap (or "Dad Hat") from BoxLunch Gifts! I'm really picky about the hats I wear (I don't like the way most of them fit me; I guess you could say I'm not a big hat guy in general), but I was super impressed when I tried this one on. It fits me pretty much perfectly and I really dig the simple/classic look! I like the deep red color and, of course, the iconic Pizza Planet logo. You know I love anything Pizza Planet!
This hat is 100% cotton (feels high quality overall), is one size fits all and retails for $18.90. Though most people out in the real world won't catch this reference (I know they'll think I'm just a delivery boy for "Planet Pizza" down the road—yes, that's a place), I still can't help but sport my Pixar pride in my everyday ensembles. I'll be especially excited to wear this during one of my upcoming Disney vacations though, where people are more likely to appreciate it!

Here's another fun item I was lucky enough to pick up while visiting the Pixar Studio Store at Pixar Studios this past fall—this really pretty limited edition Coco logo pin! While I'm not a big Disney pin collector (I have a modest collection of a few that have stood out to me over the years), I couldn't resist this one for its rarity and fantastic design. I've always loved Coco's iconic, vibrant logo and I'm thrilled to have it represented in pin form.

What's up Pixar fans?! I'm back for another blog post and today I'm taking a detailed look at this fantastic Pixar character concept art water bottle from ShopDisney.com. This originally debuted last July at the 2017 D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA and was then made available to the public on the Disney Store's website soon after. It was part of a larger line of products featuring Pixar sketch/concept art, which included shirts, notebooks, a messenger bag and a canvas artwork set (seen in THIS composite, made by my friends over at PixarPost.com).
This steel bottle stands at about 10" tall and holds 14 oz. (Not dishwasher or microwave safe). Original retail was $19.95.
There are SO many characters featured on this thing. So many that it was quite hard to photograph in a way that you can see them all! With that said, I'm going to try to count and list each character sketch...here we go...

Just when you thought there couldn't be anymore Lightning McQueen diecast releases, along comes this one—"Rust-Eze Lightning McQueen", one of the more recent Cars 3 Mattel 1:55 scale diecasts to hit shelves. Though technically this starting hitting a few months back, I only just found it in my area a week or so ago at Walmart. Finally!
As shown in the screenshot above, this is the way McQueen looks from the film's opening scene all the way through his epic crash. The main difference with this paint job, compared to his classic look, is the way Rust-Eze is printed in bold lettering across his hood, sides, back and rear spoiler. It definitely gives off a more modern, updated vibe!
Note: This one isn't to be confused with "Cars 3 Lightning McQueen", which has been available since the initial launch of this collection last May.
Be sure to check your local Walmart, Target and Toys R Us for availability! If you're having trouble finding this McQueen in your area, Amazon has him in stock currently (prime) for only $5.89. It doesn't get too much better than that! I've included the direct link to that listing below.
This past Friday was another big day for Disney·Pixar Coco fans, as it was made official that the home video release for the film will be February 27th—just a little over a month away! For those of you who prefer to purchase movies digitally these days, the digital release of the film will be here even sooner on February 13th. Either way, it's right around the corner and I can't wait! Check out my friends over at PixarPost.com for the full list of bonus content we can look forward to.
As usual, the Disney Store is now accepting pre-orders for the Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy "Multi-screen" edition (which you can do in store or online). Do so and, per tradition, receive a FREE lithograph set of four prints (in a snazzy collectible folder) AND a $10 off $40 or more coupon valid the week of release! You know that's exactly what I did Friday night after work—gotta have my Pixar lithographs.

This still from the "Un Poco Loco"/talent show scene makes the perfect backing for the inside of the folder.
Here are the lithos! My favorites are Hector and Miguel dancing in the streets (directly below) and Miguel strumming his guitar (third down). The only one I don't really care for is the Dante print; there are SO many stunningly beautiful shots in the film (like the marigold bridge, Pepita flying over the city or Miguel and Mama Coco—to name a few) that I just wonder how this one made the cut for this set. Nothing against the shot itself or the animation, I just feel there are other screen caps that would been more pleasing for display purposes.
Each print is a standard size of 10"x14" (so it should be pretty easy to
find basic frames for them) and is stamped with the official gold
Disney Store seal for authenticity.
This lithograph set is only while supplies last, so be sure to head to your local Disney Store (or visit their website HERE) soon to pre-order your copy of Coco! Despite the fact that some of the images chosen could have been stronger, this is a very nice set. Highly recommended for any fan of the film! After all, they are free high quality prints—so why not?

Tonight I'm taking a look at another recently released Mattel 1:55 scale Cars 3 diecast...Maddy McGear! I found this one at Walmart last week and was thrilled to finally find something new in my area after months of Cars desolation.
As shown in the screen shot above, Maddy is a Lightning McQueen mega fan seen in the stands during the film's opening sequence (as well as the film's closing Florida 500 race). She's the little car who yells "LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!" and, at the end, "CRUZ RAMIREZ!"
Honestly it was fun to find a new character who isn't a Demo Derby or Piston Cup racer (as much as I like those cars as well, there's just been a lot of them). This one is especially cute and, though her moments are brief, she definitely makes an impression in the film.
If you haven't found Maddy for your collection yet, I'd keep checking your local Walmart or Target stores. I thought I had missed out on her, but no! She's still showing up out there. If you'd rather just snag her online, I've included an amazon link below.

You know I'm a sucker for anything Pizza Planet related. Not sure what it is, but I'm drawn to any product inspired by it or which features the Pizza Planet logo (including the iconic truck and the aliens). With this mug, I really like the colors and the cute space/alien/the claw screen art. It's simple and really captures the overall Pizza Planet feel.

A couple of days ago, I was doing my routine Mattel Cars3 diecast check at my local Walmart (not expecting to find anything, since it's been dead in my area for months) and finally stumbled upon 12 new diecasts all at once! I was SO excited, especially since I had just been thinking that morning about how far behind I had gotten for the year. One of the new characters I was able to find was this one right here—Kris Revstopski!
As shown in the screenshot above, Kris is a flag waver for the Piston Cup racing series. She (yes, this car is female) is seen at just about every race seen in the film! Her official bio reads: Being a Piston Cup flag car like Kris Revstopski is hard work. Many
fans of racing don't realize the rigorous training and testing a vehicle
needs to go through in order to prove they are worthy of holding that
checkered flag. When a race begins or ends, it's all eyes on Kris
Revstopski.
It's always fun to find a brand new, never before released Cars character. This one is great! I really like the checkered flag accessory that she can hold on her side view mirror. I also have to mention that she'll look perfect displayed with the Florida 500 Race Track I got for Christmas! More on that soon.
