Pixar News: Cars 3 Blu-Ray Date Announced!

when is cars 3 on blu ray

Exciting news from the world of Pixar! I'm thrilled to be one of the first to announce that we finally have a Blu-Ray/DVD release date for Cars 3. After months of speculation, I can confirm that Tuesday, November 7th is the day you can take Cars 3 home and watch it to your heart's content! Mark your calendars.

Beginning this coming Tuesday (September 5th), you will be able to reserve your copy at the Disney Store (in stores and online) and receive their traditional four print lithograph set and a $10 off [$40 or more] coupon. No images of the lithos have been revealed quite yet, but I'll be sure to update this post for you when I get them. Anyway, it's something for us Cars fans to look forward to! You can check out the standard Blu-Ray combo pack and DVD covers above.

Additionally, Target and Best Buy have already begun their pre-orders. You can order the Target version HERE (which features exclusive packaging and an included 32 page storybook) or the Best Buy version HERE (which is their usual exclusive SteelBook packaging). Check them both out below! Which one are you planning on picking up? The Target cover is probably my favorite of the bunch.

The digital release date (via iTunes, Disney Movies Anywhere, Vudu, etc.) has yet to be revealed, but you can most likely expect it to it approximately two weeks before the tangible release. As soon as I get that info, I'll update this post.

Lastly, I'll have the official "special features" list for you here soon. Pixar is keeping that under wraps for a little while longer, but boy am I excited to see what they give us this time around. The bonus content is what I look forward to the most! Hoping for a filmmaker's audio commentary, a plethora of "making of" featurettes and a handful of deleted scenes. We shall see!

Stay tuned.

UPDATE 9/05/17:
We now have an official digital release date! Cars 3 will be available digitally on October 24th—a couple weeks before the physical release (as predicted). And, the moment you've been waiting for: yes—Cars 3 will be available in 4K Ultra HD like many of you hoped! It will mark the first 4K release of a Pixar film.

And here's what I was most excited for...the official list of Cars 3 special features has been revealed! Check them out below. It seem like we have a really fun selection here and I'm really hoping they don't disappoint. I think I'm most looking forward to the Miss Fritter mini-movie, the audio commentary, The Story of Cars 3 and Cars to Die(cast) for. What about you?
