This Inside Out "Box of Mixed Emotions" set is probably the most fun I've had with board books...ever. Even as an adult, I really enjoyed reading these simple stories and was in awe of the vibrant, simplistic illustrations throughout.
The set includes five 23 page storybooks, each highlighting one of the emotions from Inside Out. What's really cool is if you read them order (Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and then Fear), their stories run into each other. In other words, each book brilliantly sets up the next on the very last page.
Another cool thing (seen below) is that the outer slipcase has a die-cut circle on the back, so kids can "feature" the emotion that they're feeling that day!
Additionally, the little stories are written just so well by author Brittany Candau (as simple and short as they are). Each book features an emotion who basically talks about life from their perspective. It's actually very clever and funny; I even laughed out loud a couple times (which isn't common for me when I read)! It's also a great tool for helping young kids understand their emotions and what they mean.
As I mentioned above, the illustrations really captivated me. They're actually what drew me to the book in the first place. The minimal, colorful style of each page is exactly the style I love and seek out when it comes to art. Artist Jerrod Maruyama (one of my absolute favorite Disney artists), did a phenomenal job. To Jerrod and Brittany, my hat goes off to both of you! Great team.

Young or old, if you're a fan of the film, you will most definitely love this. Five out of five stars.
