To Protect and Serve: Mattel Diecast 3-Pack

From the upcoming Cars Toon, To Protect and Serve, here we have a brand new Mattel 1:55 scale diecast 3-pack featuring Student Driver Lightning Mcqueen and two new characters! This short film has still yet to be released, though I do believe it should be coming relatively soon (It was announced clear back during the 2013 D23 Expo, so you'd think it would about that time). What's interesting is that we now have a book based on the film (released earlier this year in January) and these toys, yet we have no idea when or how it will make its debut. Definitely stay tuned for news on that in the near future!

Anyway, lets get to checking out this fun boxed set. The cars included here are Student Driver Lightning Mcqueen, Didi 05 (the white car, voiced by Wendi McLendon-Covey) and Mike 07 (the blue car, voiced by Aziz Ansari). I can't wait to see the short and the comedy that ensues with these hilarious new characters!

For those interested in what this toon will be about, here is the official synopsis (from my friends over at PixarPost.com who had the exclusive first look):

When Sheriff takes a mandatory vacation, two overzealous rookies from County take over his duties in Radiator Springs. Bent on making a good impression to score commendations, the rookies over-do every aspect of their jobs, finding “crimes” at every turn and turning the quiet little town into a hotbed of taped-off crime scenes. No one is safe and everyone’s a suspect until Sheriff senses an imbalance and returns home to right the “justice” that’s been served.

I was able to find this set at Walmart just a week or two. If you're looking to track it down for your Cars collection, be sure to visit your local stores to check for availability. Good luck out there and please let me know if you have any questions or comments!
