Toy Story: Roly Poly Clown & Troikas

Today's post is a special one because the Toy Story Roly Poly Clown and the Troikas are finally added to my collection! Disney has never released these characters in any way and when I saw them custom made on eBay last year, I just knew I had to get them...eventually. They were a bit pricey so I needed to wait for the right time. The time came last week when I had the funds ready to buy these guys. I contacted the seller and he luckily had some still. These are not easy to come by! They come and go so much on eBay and I was luckily to snag them just in time.

So excited today when the box came!! I had been tracking it all week.

And here they are in all their well made glory! They are both made out of wood (rather than plastic like in the film) and are very high quality. Even better than I pictured...lets get to them!

Roly Poly Clown

And yes, the clown does "jingle" (see video below)!

So much detail! Look at that hair...everything is hand painted!

Love the shiny, glossy, plastic look (even though it's wood)!

Troikas

The Troikas do open up and store inside each other if you were wondering! They are genuine nesting dolls.

Needless to say, I'm not disappointed with this purchase whatsoever. These are absolutely incredible and a must have to complete your Toy Story collection! I really don't think Thinkway, Disney·Pixar or Mattel have any plans to release these characters anytime soon...or ever. So be sure to get them while you still can!

UPDATE 6/28/21— New full video review is up on my YouTube channel!

Finding Nemo: Revoltech Figure

Such a cool collectible! This is the Revoltech (A company out of Japan) Finding Nemo (and Dory) collectible figure/replica. It should be noted that this is not an action figure or a toy. It's a 3D model to be displayed by adult collectors only. It's pretty fragile and can break easily...but boy is it cool once put all together! This sells for only $15 on Amazon right now so get one while you still have the chance if you're a Pixar/Finding Nemo fan!

The details, colors and quality of the sculpt is unreal. I had seen lots of pictures online before I purchased this but let me tell you looks so much cooler and more vibrant in person!

And here we have the alternate sad/mean/grumpy face for when little Nemo is having his more difficult times...

And the detail would be incomplete without his "lucky fin" just like in the film!

Now I just have to track down the rest of this collection: Sulley, Lightning, Woody, Wall-E and Mr. Incredible! There are also older ones which include a different (and better) Sulley with Mike, a different Woody and a Buzz Lightyear one. Also, it was just announced that a Jessie one is on the way!

Cars: Flo's V8 Cafe Playset

Part four out of six of the Radiator Springs Cars play sets! Today's post we have Flo's V8 cafe...the biggest one of them all. This was released in 2006 along with the other ones, but this version I'm showing here is from this past year. It's a re-release Toys R Us exclusive and part of the Radiator Springs Classic series. I was so excited to see this at stores and was actually the first one of these play sets that I was able to purchase. It was motivation to track down the other ones on eBay which have become very rare. If only they had all been re-released, it would have been a lot easier- and less expensive.

Just like the play sets shown earlier, this is a great toy, makes an amazing diorama piece and has flashing lights...and the good news is that you can still find it at stores! Don't worry, it's not rare...yet. If you haven't, hurry and snag it before it's gone again and becomes hard to find.

Features: The top opens up to reveal two more levels (cars not included).

Place car on the checkered floor and you can spin it around and launch it out!

And if you missed it, here is the whole town put together! More pictures and a video to show off the town in more detail will be included in post six. Stay tuned!

Cars: Ramone's House of Body Art Playset

Part three of the Pixar Cars Radiator Springs play sets: Ramone's House of Body Art! The town would not be complete without it. This is another great play set from Mattel's 2006 line that goes along with the three others (see below in the picture of the back of the box):

Unlike the last two, luckily I was able to get this one on eBay new in box for a decent price. This sells currently for about $50-$90.

Like the Casa Della Tires play set, this one opens up to real the full shop with multiple features-including light up neon sign (night video of the all lights in action coming this week)!

Rotating, movable window platform to show off your new paint job (Ramone not included)!

Bring your cars over to the paint station for a fresh new paint job!

Then check it out in the mirror...lookin' good!

Sneak preview of all the town together:

Cars: Curio Shop Playset

Day two of the Cars Radiator Springs play sets! Today we have my personal favorite...the Curio Shop from 2006 by Mattel. I just especially love the details and design of this one for some reason. It just always stood out to me! It's extremely well made and very movie accurate. I would say this is currently the most rare/most expensive (to get complete with accessories) of the play sets but sometimes you can find a good deal on eBay so keep checking often.

As seen in the film, this is Lizzie's favorite hang out spot (Lizzie not included)!

Flashing light up sign (stay tuned for video of all the sets together at night with the working lights).

Opens up to reveal road signs and "curios."

Includes this launcher to launch cars up the ramp and into the store!

And here is a preview of the town all put together! More detailed pics coming later after each individual play set is posted. Stay tuned!

Cars: Casa Della Tires Playset

In 2006, Mattel released four play sets that made up much of the classic Radiator Springs town seen in Cars. There was Casa Della Tires, Curio Shop, Flo's V8 Cafe and Ramone's House of Body Art-all with working lights just like in the movie! These have to be my favorite items in my Cars collection and are even in my top faves for my entire Pixar collection. I just love the look and feel of Radiator Springs in the film and I love how these play sets capture that with incredible detail. This week I will be posting all four play sets and also two play sets from the Disney Parks/Store that go along almost perfectly with these. There will also be a video so you can see the lights and entire play set in actio.

In addition, as you may notice if you're familiar with this set, that a couple stacks of tires are missing. This was an eBay purchase so it was the best I could do...if I wanted one complete it would have been much more expensive as these play sets already sell for over $100 incomplete. New in box prices sometimes get crazy! I figured it had enough tires to look good.

Here we have Guido and Luigi at their shop (Not included).

Turn the sign above to make the tires topple over!

The play set opens up to reveal the full shop! Here you'll find fun little details all around.

Turn the crank to test your new tires!

Lift the car up to be worked on then send them on their way down the ramp in the back!

And here is a preview of the town all put together! More detailed pics coming later after each individual play set post. Stay tuned!
