Finding Dory: Hallmark Decoupage Ornaments

finding dory hallmark decoupage ornaments

A few years back, Hallmark brand began releasing a collection of decoupage, "shatterproof" stylized Christmas tree ornaments geared specifically towards young kids—available primarily at Target, Walmart and Toys R Us stores. Many characters from many different properties have been made in this particular style over the years (DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar, Wizard of Oz, Peanuts, Scooby-Doo, etc...) and I had thought about collecting them for some time.

This collection has caught my eye since its beginning (I really love the designs), though I only finally decided to start collecting them this past holiday season. I figured they would be perfect for a separate, smaller Christmas tree in our kids' room someday.

This past year saw the brand new release of this trio inspired by Pixar's 2016 hit sequel Finding Dory. Included here we have none other than Dory herself, Nemo and everyone's favorite cranky septopus Hank (which was Target exclusive). Each measures about 4" in size and retails for around $7.

Let's take a closer look!

Now I'm regretting not collecting these sooner, because I've missed out on so many awesome previously released characters who aren't around anymore! Decoupage ornaments of Inside Out characters (Joy, Anger, Sadness and Disgust), Toy Story characters (Buzz and Woody), Cars characters (Lightning Mcqueen and Mater) and Monsters Inc./University characters (Sulley, MU Sulley and MU Mike) have come and gone. Buzz and Woody were re-released this past holiday season, but I was too late in the game to snag them. Blast!

At any rate, I'm sure I'll be able to find [at least most of] the retired Pixar characters I need on eBay; even if it's just a little bit at a time. I'm going to do my best to find them all and post the complete collection here! Look for updates here soon.

Side Note- As a massive Star Wars fan, I also wanted to collect all those characters from this line that I could. Luckily I was able to snag them all before they sold out this past year (including the Walmart exclusive Kylo Ren). Visit THIS POST as featured on my Star Wars Instagram page to check them out!

Toy Story 4: Hallmark Jessie & Rex Decoupage Ornaments (Target Exclusives)

toy story 4 target decoupage ornaments

Back in the fall of 2013, Hallmark began releasing some adorably stylized "shatterproof" decoupage Christmas tree ornaments for kids at stores like Target, Walmart and [at the time] Toys R Us. Characters from all sorts of different properties were represented, but the majority were characters from Disney/Pixar/Star Wars/ Marvel films. The line proved to be super popular and has returned, as well as expanded, every year since! It's always so fun, come around November, when Target puts out their Christmas stuff and I get to see which new characters have been developed. I had a feeling we'd see some new Toy Story characters this year...and what do you know!? Today I'm taking a look at the newly released Toy Story 4 Jessie and Rex ornaments.

There haven't been any new Toy Story characters in this line since the original Buzz and Woody, so these two make fantastic additions to the collection. Jessie looks absolutely adorable and I don't know if Rex (one of my all-time favorites) has ever looked cuter! I just love the style of these little guys. Both of these are very lightweight, stand at about 4" tall, retail for $7.00 and are Target exclusives. You can buy them in stores or online right now.

Take a closer look below!

Also released this year were new versions of both Buzz and Woody. Since I already have the originals, I didn't feel the need to purchase these ones as well—but I still wanted to document them here. They are very cute (I honestly probably like these new designs better than the first edition versions), so definitely snag them before they're gone if you're interested! These ones are available at Target as well, but are not Target exclusives. They have been spotted elsewhere, like at Five Below (for just $5).

One thing I have to note is that I'm shocked they didn't make Forky in this decoupage style! He would have looked perfect and would have been super popular this year, I'm sure.

Side Note- As a massive Star Wars fan, I've also been collecting all of those characters from this line as well. Check them out HERE and HERE as featured on my Star Wars collection Instagram page.

Be sure to view all my previous posts on this ornament collection HERE. The only Pixar ones I'm missing now from past years (before I started collecting these ornaments) are Mater from Cars, Sulley (regular Monsters Inc. version) and Joy, Sadness, Disgust & Anger from Inside Out. I still hope to track them down somehow.

I've been saving all these over the years to decorate a Pixar/Star Wars Christmas tree for my son Aidan one day. I thought his own little tree with these would look really cute in his room—that is if he's into what I'm into ;) By the way, we're now five days past his due date so he's gotta arrive any day now!

As usual, please leave any comments or questions you might have in the comment section down below. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

MORE Hallmark Pixar Decoupage Ornaments—Happy Christmas in July!

disney pixar hallmark target decoupage ornaments

Can you believe how fast this year is going? Today marks just FIVE MONTHS until Christmas! To celebrate "Christmas in July", I'm taking a detailed look at my updated collection of Pixar Hallmark decoupage ornaments. Though this particular style of ornament started hitting stores clear back in the fall of 2013, I only started picking them up with the release of the Finding Dory ones (which released fall 2016, see my full post on them HERE). So I've had to play a bit of catch up with a few of them!

First, a little background: these "shatterproof" stylized Christmas tree ornaments are geared specifically towards young kids and are available primarily at Target and Walmart stores during the holiday season (RIP Toys R Us...they used to be available there too). Many characters from many different properties have been made in this particular style over the years (DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar, Wizard of Oz, Peanuts, Scooby-Doo, Hello Kitty, etc...) and what's nice is that they're extremely lightweight. I really love the designs and figure they'll be perfect for a separate, smaller Christmas tree in our kids' bedroom someday! Each one is about 3.5"-4" in size and retails for $7.

OK, now with this bunch, let's first let's take a closer look at the Monsters University inspired Mike and Sulley (released in 2013)— which I was lucky enough to snag on eBay last year. They're adorable! And very hard to find these days.

Next up is Buzz and Woody. These originally became available in 2015 (I believe) and have made a comeback every year since. I was so happy to see them back last year at Target and didn't hesitate to grab them up this time! I can almost guarantee they'll be back again for 2018.

TOY STORY—WOODY & BUZZ

Last but not least, here we have the Cars 3 Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez! These were both brand new releases last year and I was able to find them easily at Target.

The only ones I'm missing now are Mater from Cars, Sulley (regular Monsters Inc. version) and Joy, Sadness, Disgust & Anger from Inside Out. I still hope to track them down somehow! And who's gonna show up this year? Maybe a few re-releases? How about some Incredibles 2 characters? Can't wait to find out.

If you're looking to add any of these to your collection, be sure to check eBay and Amazon as I saw many of them on there recently. And as usual, make sure to leave any comments or questions you might have down in the comments!

Side Note- As a massive Star Wars fan, I've also been collecting all of those characters from this line. Check them out HERE and HERE as featured on my Star Wars Instagram page.

Incredibles 2: Hallmark Decoupage Ornaments (from Target)

The line proved to be super popular and has returned, as well as expanded, every year since! It's always so fun, come around November, when Target puts out their Christmas stuff and I get to see which new characters have been developed. Who will it be this year? I'm really hoping for some more Toy Story faces.

Anyway, right now I'm gonna take a look back at the Pixar characters released last year for Incredibles 2...Edna Mode and Violet! I never got around to reviewing these (whoops), so I figured "Christmas in July" was the perfect time to do so at this point. Less than 5 months now until Christmas, which is crazy!

Both of these are darling and I was excited to see both these characters made, especially Edna! Love that character. They look great and fit perfectly with all the other characters released over the years. I was surprised though that Mr. Incredible or Elastigirl weren't made, they would have been perfect in this style too!

Take a closer look down below...

Toy Story: Alien Decoupage Christmas Tree Ornament (Hallmark)

Back in the fall of 2013, Hallmark began releasing some adorably stylized "shatterproof" decoupage Christmas tree ornaments at stores like Target, Walmart and [at the time] Toys R Us. Characters from all sorts of different properties were represented, but the majority were characters from Disney/Pixar/Star Wars/ Marvel films. The line—geared toward younger kids— proved to be super popular and has returned, as well as expanded, every year since! It's always so fun, come the beginning of November, when Target puts out their Christmas stuff and I get to see which new characters have been developed. This year there was only one new Pixar character, but it's a good one—a Pizza Planet Alien from Toy Story

This is the fifth Toy Story character to be released in this style of ornament. Before this there was Buzz & Woody (original and updated designs) and Jessie & Rex. As usual, it's perfection! I absolutely love this design and it fits in so nicely with all the others.

If you've handled one of these before, then you know these decoupage ornaments are very lightweight, glossy and come ready to hang. This one stands at a little over 3" tall and retails for $7.00. If you're interested in picking this up for your (or your little one's) Christmas tree, be sure to head to your nearest Target soon before they sell out. You can also snag it online HERE if you'd rather just have it shipped to you. I'm saving this (and all the decoupage ornaments) for when we set up Aidan's own little Christmas tree in his room next year!

Side Note- As a massive Star Wars fan, I've also been collecting all of those characters from this line as well. Check them out HERE and HERE as featured on my Star Wars collection Instagram page. A "Baby Yoda" one from The Mandalorian also just came out, so you know I had to grab that one!

Be sure to view all my previous posts on this ornament collection HERE. The only Pixar ones I'm missing now from past years (before I started collecting them) are Mater from Cars, Sulley (regular Monsters Inc. version) and Joy, Sadness, Disgust & Anger from Inside Out. Monsters, Inc. Hallmark Mike & Sulley Decoupage Ornaments 2021

Well hey there everyone! Long time, no see. I'm thrilled to be back here on the blog for a quick, festive post and to say I hope you all had a magical and wonderful Christmas. Today I'm taking a look at the two new 2021 Pixar Hallmark decoupage Christmas tree ornaments released last month—Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. in celebration of the film's 20th anniversary this year!

If you're not familiar, this line of adorably stylized "shatterproof" decoupage ornaments for kids began around 2013 (possibly even before that) and has expanded with loads of fun new characters every year since. I seriously always look forward to seeing who gets made! Many films/shows/franchises are represented in the line—from Disney to Pixar to Marvel to Star Wars and SO many more—and I've been collecting my favorite Pixar and Star Wars characters since 2016 (with the release of the Finding Dory ones). If you've ever been to Target during the holidays over the last eight years or so, then I'm sure you've seen ornaments from this line and already know exactly what I'm talking about here. I've also spotted some at Walmart, Five Below and probably some other stores over the years as well, but they're certainly the most prevalent and consistent at Target every holiday season.

I was thrilled to see classic Mike and Sulley get made this year since, before now, only Mike and Sulley in their Monsters University clothes were made (see post HERE). Now that I think about it, I do believe a traditional looking Sulley was made at some point, but I couldn't find any pics or info on it. If one was made years ago, it was before I started collecting these so I'm not sure if this 2021 Sulley here is brand new or a re-release of that one. If you have any information on it, be sure to let me know!

All in all, these look so great. I'm so happy to have this classic duo as part of this collection! I would have also loved to see a character or two from Luca made in this style this year as well (like Luca and Alberto as sea monsters), but oh well. Maybe we'll see them get made at some point down the road. I'd also love to see Wall·E and Eve!

Anyway, I've been collecting these ornaments all these years for the sole purpose of giving them to my son one day to put on his own Christmas tree and this year it finally happened. Aidan is now two years old, so I thought it would be the perfect time for them to make their official debut—and I was right! We gave them to Aidan on a tree for his second birthday earlier this month and it was so incredibly gratifying to see them get used for real after all this time and to see how much Aidan absolutely loves them. He thinks it's so magical having his own tree in his room with all his favorite characters!

To see the rest of the Pixar characters I've collected in this line since 2016, be sure check them all out HERE. Who's your favorite so far and who would you like to see get made in the future?
