Miss Part 1? Check out our first evening right HERE.
Sunday morning we woke up fresh (after that long drive) and ready to start our first full day at the parks! This day was a Lightning Mcqueeen kind of day, so I wore my awesome shirt from Cars Land and corresponding MagicBandits.
After a little breakfast, we were off to Epcot!
We first stopped by Epcot to sort out my Cast Member Main Gate/Guest/Spouse Passes at guest services there (we heard it was the fastest and most convenient way to get all that done). If you're a Cast Member as well and it's your first time using your passes and/or you need any printed or linked, I recommend going there for sure. It went pretty quick and they were super helpful.
We absolutely love the Flower and Garden Festival! We were so happy we were there for it once again. That's our favorite time to be at Epcot for sure.
We had just a short time before heading to our dining reservation, so we just walked around and soaked in the ambience of Epcot for a few. Since we didn't have time for much, going to Club Cool was a fun, delicious, quick and free thing to do! We always love trying all their flavors- it never gets old (never ask me to try the Beverly again though).
We walked over to France (our favorite country there at the World Showcase) and I was able to spend a couple minutes in the Souvenirs de France gift shop. I was excited to see all the Ratatouille merch they had there! You know I made some purchases there later that week. Stay tuned for those!
We spotted this awesome French street performer on our way out! We were memorized by his acrobatics until we had to jet over to our lunch.
Next we took a bus over to Wilderness Lodge for a fantastic all you can eat lunch at one of our favorites restaurants, the Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Spotted this Monsters Inc. Mike Wazowski cookie in the gift shop while we were waiting to be seated. :)
Such delicious lunch!! We both got the "All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Platter" (Slow-smoked Pork Ribs, Barbecued Pulled
Pork, Roasted Chicken, Cornbread, Western-style
Sausage, Mashed Yukon
Potatoes, Corn on the Cobb and Cowboy
style Baked Beans- $22.49). I also got the "All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Milkshake" (we ordered both their chocolate and caramel flavors- So good).
This was a great moment. As we were leaving, I heard the very distinct voice of a memorable waitress who served me and my cousins there almost 10 years ago (2007 to be exact). Her name is M.T. and we always talked about her and how funny she was even to this day. I couldn't believe she still served there! I said to Brita "I hear M.T.! That was totally her voice!" So I went up to her and sure enough it was her. I told her how I remembered her from all those years ago, and after some witty remarks from her, we snapped these hilarious photos. Classic times!
Comment below if you know/been served by M.T.- she's a legend there!
Off to the Magic Kingdom! Always such a happy sight to see the main gate.
The Festival of Fantasy parade always seems to be going on when we enter the Magic Kingdom. There's Merida!
Love the classic Main Street sweet shops/bakery. Can't you just smell it now?
The BB-8 balloons look so cool!
Going to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is always a must for us. Something extra fun seems to happen each time. Last time we were featured on the screen as the couple they talked to/asked questions...this time Brita's joke she submitted actually got told! It got some good laughs (after people thought about it for a second). Here's the joke:
"What's the difference between in-laws and outlaws?"
One of them is wanted. ;)
The rest of the afternoon/evening was spent going to different gift shops, walking through the different lands and going on a bunch of the rides (Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh, etc.).
Between FastPasses, shows/rides without waits, giftshops and just knowing the right time to go to certain rides, we never had to wait more than 20 minutes for anything. That's always the goal!
We loved the new (well new since we last went) full Haunted Mansion gift shop! We wanted to buy so much of the stuff for a future Haunted Mansion themed Halloween party. The awesome post cards below (designed by one of my fave artists/friend Dave Perillo) are just a taste of the wickedly cool art they had there.
Mickey's Philharmagic 4D show!
Some Pixar pins/Magicbands at the Big Top Souvenirs shop in the Storybook Circus area.
Who can name where this is??
We always have to hit up The Incredibles Dance Party!
Who else loves the cult favorite Pineapple Dolewhip?! Do you prefer it straight up or as a float? Picked this up at Aloha Isle in Adventureland for a little late night treat.
Love the Tangled area in Fantasyland at night!
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin! I do have to say, I was the raining champ this time around. ;) I'm pretty sure Brita had her revenge later on in the week though.
To wrap of the evening we did the Snow White Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride for the first time! Last time we went, me missed the opening by just a couple days. It was super fun (and with all the Disney Imagineer details we've all come to expect)!
On our way our, we hit up the giant Emporium gift shop on Main Street.
My two favorite things on one sign and in one store section! Needless to say, I was right in my element. :D
Mike Wazowski Pen |
Cool new Star Wars shirts (also had mugs, pins and magnets with same designs) |
Lightning Mcqueen Bank |
All in all, our first full day was a beautiful, magical success. We had an absolute blast- and this was only the very beginning! More to come.
Enjoying our trip so far? Check back tomorrow for part 3 right here!
