Toy Story: Toy Story Mania Andy "Crayon Drawings" Vinylmations UPDATED

Exactly two years ago today, July 5th, 2012, Disneyland Tokyo saw the opening of the popular attraction, Toy Story Mania. To coincide with the ride's opening there in Japan, a series of four Toy Story themed (non-blind box) Vinylmation was released which included: Buzz, Woody, Jessie and an Alien...all based on the style of Andy's drawings! This collection is known as the "Toy Story Mania Andy Series", having no real official name on the box.

The first one I've got here from this series is the Pizza Planet alien. Now just three more to go!

Admittedly, and yet another crazy coincidence, I had no idea today was the two year anniversary of the ride opening in Japan when I planned this post. I just looked it up a few minutes ago, after I had started, and it so happened to be July 5th! Again, what are the chances?

Anyway, this great set of Vinylmations luckily didn't stay exclusive to Japan. They were available soon after at U.S. Disney Parks as well. When these were first released, as much as I loved the designs, I was still collecting the regular blind box series of Toy Story Vinylmations at the time... so these got put on the back burner and forgotten for a while. 

Then, during our most recent trip to Disney World back in May, a couple of these were still hanging around at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney and I was reminded of how cool they were. I was actually surprised they were still around! One of me and my wife's absolute favorite rides at Disney World is Toy Story Mania, so when she saw these, she had to get me what they had (which was just this one) as a birthday surprise. So awesome, a huge thanks to her!

"Andy" is written under the feet of each of the Vinylmations in this set. Nice touch!

UPDATE 1/25/14 -   

I have finally added the last three Vinylmations from this series to my collection! Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and Woody have now all joined my Pizza Planet alien after much waiting.
