Monsters Inc: Musical Snowglobe

This gorgeous Monsters, Inc. snowglobe was available only at Disney Stores in 2002. I had missed it back then, but after seeing it online a lot over the past few years, I knew I needed to get my hands on one! The snowglobe features a fun variety of the some of the film's most colorful and memorable characters and plays a music box rendition of "If I Didn't Have You." It's really an incredible piece and one of the most detailed snowglobes I've ever seen.

When wound up, it not only plays Randy Newman's memorable and beautiful cue, but the center circle/platform (with the doors and CDA agents on it) rotates as well! Since this is a "snow"globe, it also of course features confetti type snow that "falls" when turned upside down or shaken.

Check out all the many details of the globe below!

This snowglobe originally sold for around $68 and, surprisingly, is still sold for around that price on eBay which isn't too shabby! I think I got this one, with tag and in perfect condition, for around $80. A huge thanks to my wife Brita who got me this as a recent birthday present! It's perfect.

Additionally, check out this YouTube video (subscribe!) I put together to go along with the post. I wanted you to be able to to hear it as well as see everything in even more detail! Note: I put the snowglobe in the video on a rotating product turntable, so it doesn't actually spin like that on its own. However, the center platform part of the snowglobe does rotate when wound up (as mentioned). I don't show the globe wound up here since I didn't want double rotations going on during the video, if that makes sense. Enjoy!
