Cars: Brand New Mater Funko POP (2015 New York Comic Con Exclusive)

I'm back everyone!

Sorry for not posting on Friday or Saturday. You might be wondering...where's Dan with his daily posts!? Don't worry I'm not slowing down just yet; I've actually just been at the New York Comic Con (NYCC) working as an exhibitor for my brother's art booth. Unfortunately, that left me with literally no time in the day to get to my post. I had no idea it would be quite that crazy or time consuming! All is well now though.

I'll be doing a full write up on my time there tomorrow- so look for that!

Anyway, lets get to what you're here for. Here we have the NYCC 2015 exclusive "Brand New Mater" "POP!" vinyl figure, just released this past week from Funko! This was only available at the official Funko booth there at the convention (which was very hard to get into). I feel super lucky to have gotten one! This is a rare, limited edition collector's item of just 1500 pieces made.

This is the second convention exclusive Cars Funko "POP!" released this year. Check out my SDCC Dinoco Lightning Mcqueen post HERE if you missed it.

Since this is considered a Mater "variant" (just a straight repaint of the standard Mater Funko "POP!"), it's still #129 in the Disney "POP!" Funko line. Even though it uses the same sculpt as the original, this was a must have for me. I'm a sucker for limited/exclusive items in general.

Like the other cars in this collection (see the original line HERE, released in July), this one has a great design, vibrant colors and some nice little details. If you're any kind of Pixar Cars fan and/or collector, than this is for you. What's so cool about the Funko "POP!" products is that they're simple enough that a baby could enjoy them, yet sophisticated enough for adult collectors to display- so whatever your age, you'll appreciate this!

The only way to get one of these now, unfortunately, is on the second hand market (you can find this typically selling for $40-$50 at this point). Original retail was $15. If you're interested, be sure to check out current listings on eBay using this direct link. Get it while you can!
