Released on September 28th at the Disney Store, here we have the new Disney·Pixar The Good Dinosaur Figurine Playset- featuring six great characters from the film! I've been collecting most of these Disney Store figure sets for a while now (see my posts on the Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall·E, Up, Toy Story: Hawaiian Vacation, Brave and Inside Out ones) since they are usually a pretty fun way to get a variety of my favorite characters from each new Pixar film released. I always look forward to these and can always count on them!
The quality of the figures included with the Disney Store Figurine Playsets have really gone up a notch as of late. They use to be a hit or miss as far as paint jobs, likeness and overall quality was concerned, but they seem to be improving in all aspects (and are more consistent). Earlier this year, I praised the figures included with the Inside Out playset for being excellent; now I can do the same here! This is another home run with fantastic figures rich in detail and color.
Like with the Inside Out set, the figures here in this The Good Dinosaur set are "spot" on (catch that?) and fantastically made! I love the size of these figurines (approximately 2"- 5" in size), the sculpts, the clean paint jobs and the overall make of each of the characters included here.
Speaking of characters, the six figures included with this set are: Thunderclap, Butch, Spot, Arlo, Bubbha and Forrest Woodbush. Each figure stands up great on their own (some with the help of a base).
Four young kids who may be a bit more rough with their toys, I can probably see the stands breaking off if tossed around too much. For older kids and adult collectors however, it shouldn't be a problem at all.
Anyway, lets take a closer look at each of the figures!
Thunderclap
Butch
Spot
Arlo
Bubbha
Forrest Woodbush
There we have it! If you're already a fan of the film like myself, then I highly
recommend this set. You'll love it, especially if you're trying to track
down the core characters to collect for play or display. If you don't
have a local Disney Store, you can always purchase it online HERE. It retails for $14.95 (a pretty decent price if you ask me since that averages out to be about $2.50 per figure).
What do you think of these figures? Who's your favorite one? Which character are you most excited to see in the film? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below and be sure to check back daily for more from my ever expanding Pixar collection!
