The Good Dinosaur: A Berry for Arlo Book
Here we have A Berry for Arlo, another adorable book based on characters from Disney·Pixar's newest feature, The Good Dinosaur! In this sweet and simple story about friendship, Spot goes out of his way to bring his friend Arlo a branch full of berries...but other dinosaurs (you'll see lots of familiar faces) want those berries too! In the end, it's the thought that counts.
Ultimately, this is very much a board book for toddler age kids (I'd say it's best suited for ages 2-4). Keep in mind though that this is quite a bit bigger than a standard board book, measuring at about 8.8" x 10.5" in size. The thick pages (good for little hands to grasp onto) are cut into fun, "playful" shapes which adds some cool dimension to the pages and illustrations.
Though the story is cute enough, it's very short. The book is just 34 pages long with just a few words on every other page- in fact, an author isn't even credited. What really drove me to purchase this were the fantastic, vibrant, minimal style illustrations by my friend Jerrod Maruyama! I'm a big fan of Jerrod's work and he did not disappoint here. I can't wait to see what he does next!
Lets take a look inside...
