Toy Story 4 "Minis" Terrorantulus Playset
For tonight's blog post, I'm back to sharing more from my Toy Story 4 Mattel "Minis" collection here with this fun Terrorantulus Playset released last spring! As shown in the screen shot below, this playset is inspired by the Grand Basin Carnival Days ride that's seen several times throughout the film—most notably when Buzz climbs onto one of the ride vehicles to launch himself toward the highway! This set pairs perfectly with the Buzz Lightyear's Star Adventurer Playset I reviewed Thursday since, combined, they make a cool little carnival display. Kids will have so much fun combining this with the other "Minis" figures to recreate their favorite movie moments and own adventures!
Note: See also the post I did on the Toy Story 4 "Minis" Ultimate New Friends 10-Pack if you missed it.
This playset comes with an exclusive "Special Edition Carnival Buzz Lightyear" mini figure. In reality though, it's essentially just a repack of the Buzz figure that came with the Andy's Room Playset back in 2017 (the only significant difference is that he has a new/updated face). I'm onto you Mattel, I haven't forgotten about that one! ;)
The playset itself is really awesome. There's a small amount of assembly required (and a few decals that took about 10 minutes to apply), but it's all very simple! The result is super cool. Just turn the main center part of the playset and the arms (or tentacles) spin and move up and down in a fun and unique motion! The ride vehicles can sway too. There's room for six "Minis" to join in on the fun at once! You can view it in action by checking out Mattel's brief official product demonstration video HERE.
Retail price was originally $19.99.
I've never seen this in-store, only on Amazon. Visit the link below if you're looking to add it to your collection! If you're a collector of Toy Story "Minis", this is a must-have. To me, playsets are essential to any figure line to elevate the fun! This does exactly that.
