Incredibles 2: Jakks Pacific 4" Action Figure Collection Review

Incredibles 2 Jakks Pacific 4" Action Figure Collection Review

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay in getting a post up the last couple days. My work schedule and the holiday kept getting in the way and I've had little time to work on all the photos required for today's epic post (though I have been able to fit in a little here and there). Between this morning and tonight though, I should finally be able to finish up with all my thoughts and show you what I've been working on!

Today I'm taking a detailed look at the Incredibles 2 basic 4" figure line by Jakks Pacific. In this first wave (hopefully there's going to be more), there's Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, a Dash & Jack-Jack 2-Pack, Violet, Frozone and a Mr. Incredible & Elastigirl (new super suite) 2-Pack. Each figure is 4" tall or under, has five points of articulation (arms, legs and head; Mr. Incredible is the only exception as he has seven points—the two additional points are at his elbows) and retails for $7.99. Find them at Walmart or Target!

Let's take a closer look at each one and discuss both the good and what could have been improved.

MR. INCREDIBLE
Mr. Incredible is a good figure overall. He's got those extra two points of articulation (seven total, as mentioned), is considered "super poseable" and stands well on his own. His likeness is good, but not great. From what I noticed while choosing one at the store, sometimes the paint application can be a bit sloppy on the eyes (which can make him look a bit wonky), so make sure to look through, compare and grab the best one.

ELASTIGIRL
I really like the Elastigirl figure. I think the likeness to her character is a step up from Mr. Incredible and she also stands well on her own (though she does lean a little bit to the right). The included stretched arm accessory was a great touch and can be easily swapped out with her regular arm. It looks pretty cool!

DASH & JACK-JACK 2-PACK
Dash and Jack-Jack are both excellent figures. No real complaints here! Both likenesses are real good and they both stand well on their own (I didn't think Jack-Jack would, but I was impressed that I could stand him up without much difficulty). The paint application on these ones, from what I've seen, is pretty consistently spot on. Be aware though that these are both pretty darn small (we're talking about 1.5" tall for Jack-Jack and 2.5" tall for Dash).

VIOLET
Overall, I think Violet is a really cool looking figure— good sculpt, look-wise. However she's the one I've had the most issues with. First of all, I could not stand her up on her own (I tried a good 10 minutes), which was pretty frustrating. Plus she doesn't have any holes in her feet, so I couldn't attach her to an action figure stand even if I got one. I wish she came with her own stand, or better yet, that she could just stand up on her own. The other thing is her left leg kept popping out. I don't know what the problem is there or if anyone else has had that issue. Maybe it's just mine.

I'm not sure why her hair was painted bluish/purple (since it should be black), but that's more of an observation than an actual problem. That doesn't really bother me. I also like her force field accessories and how you can attach them or split them in two (just like in the film). There's a lot to like about this figure...if only she could stand up.

FROZONE
Frozone could be my favorite of the bunch. He has a great sculpt (I like his stance with the arm out like he's using his ice power), a solid paint job and his signature ice sled as an accessory/display stand.

ELASTIGIRL & MR. INCREDIBLE 2-PACK
Lastly, there's this really cool figure 2-Pack ("The Ultimate Team") which includes a metallic painted version of Mr. Incredible (he's the same sculpt as the single pack release) and Elastigirl in her shiny, newly designed super suite (also a metallic paint job and also the same sculpt as the single Elastigirl release). This pack is a Target exclusive (find it in store or online HERE) and retails for $14.99.

In the end, this is a super collection of basic poseable action figures. As shown in my pic below, you can see they look awesome all together. Though I expressed a couple small problems, I can still totally recommend these as quality figures! Jakks Pacific really did a good job. I'm a sucker for small scale figure collections like this, so I always knew these would be a must-get for me as soon as I saw them revealed at this past Toy Fair. Now I just hope we get a second wave with some more unique characters! Screenslaver? Void? Brick? Krushauer? He-Lectrix? Screech? Edna? So many possibilities. Who are your top choices?

Let me know all your thoughts and/or any questions you might have down in the comments!
