Leap Day Pixar Movie Marathon at Cinema de Lux Legacy Place—Event Recap!

I've only experienced eight leap years in my lifetime, but last week's leap day (Saturday 2/29) was certainly the best of them all! Thanks to Showcase Cinemas, I not only got to attend their all-day Pixar Movie Marathon Event at their Cinema de Lux Legacy Place location outside of Boston, but I got a be a part of the event as well (see my announcement HERE)! A huge thank you to the Showcase marketing team who pulled off an epic and flawless event for New England's biggest Pixar fans.

I got to my hotel the night before the marathon and was so surprised and delighted to find some magical Onward goodies and candy to bring to the screening! I was gifted a Disney Store Willowdale College pullover hoodie (more details soon), an Onward umbrella, an Onward tumbler and a personalized welcome note. This was above and beyond!

I arrived at the theater bright and early on leap day and was amazed to see all the hard work that was put into making this such a special event! The marathon featured six classic Pixar films (beginning at 9 a.m. with Toy Story, then followed by Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille, Wall-E and Up) and an advanced screening of Onward at 7:30 p.m.!

As part of this event, each guest got to take home a commemorative marathon lanyard...

And a swag bag, which included an exclusive Onward "Leap Day" fleece blanket and the tumbler I was gifted the night before! More details on those items will be posted right here real soon.

Guests could enter for a chance to win these three awesome Onward plush from the Disney Store!

And who doesn't love a good themed beverage? I was so impressed with how clever the names were that the team came up with. I'm telling you, they went all out!

There were plenty of family fun activities in the lobby as well, including a "red carpet" photo op spot, face painting, balloon animals and a DJ playing all of Pixar’s greatest hits!

Guests could pose with the Mattel Onward Wizard Staff toy, as well as the iconic Pixar ball (which I brought along to help give the experience a unique little Pixar touch).

Below is the calm before the marathon! We ended up having a full house, which was amazing.

In between films, I had such a fun time mingling with fans and hosting some Pixar trivia! We had so many fantastic Onward prizes to hand out to the audience thanks to Disney Consumer Products. I was so impressed with everyone's knowledge; I couldn't stump them, even with my "hard hitter" questions! We had some serious diehards in attendance.

A couple kids even gave me their Onward inspired wizard staff balloon creation that the balloon artist had made earlier on! I thought that was really sweet.

Afterward, I had the chance to take some photos with some of the fans! It was seriously such a memorable event and the perfect way to spend this year's extra day.

There it is everyone! I hope you enjoyed this recap. If you were there, I hope this post brings back some fun memories. I so enjoyed meeting many of you all! If you were able to attend one of these marathon events elsewhere, I'd love to hear about your experience as well. One last HUGE thank you to Showcase Cinemas for putting this on and reaching out to me! So excited for what we're planning next...stay tuned.
