In late 2017, Mattel's Toys R Us exclusive "Radiator Spring Classic" collection continued with a few Deluxe 1:55 scale diecast re-releases in Cars 3 packaging—one of them being the classic (for lack of a better word) Tractor! This is essentially the same tractor that has been released many times since the original Cars, with really only a slightly updated paint job. Even though I already have a tractor in my collection, I picked this one up because I figured there are so many in the movie that another one would be nice for scene building.
The tractors (basically the cows of this universe) had some very brief yet memorable fan favorite moments in Cars, but were completely absent from Cars 2; so it was fun to see them back for Cars 3 and for them to play a significant part in the story and McQueen's/Cruz's training!
My only gripe with this release is that it was not necessary for it to be a $7.99 "Deluxe" sized release. Mattel has released this same tractor sculpt many times on a standard size card with a standard price point. I'm not sure why they felt like they needed to slap this one on a bigger card/bubble with all that extra space. Other than that though, the diecast itself looks great. No complaints there.
