Monsters Inc: The Game of Life

From 2001, here is the classic Milton Bradley board game "The Game of Life" with a Monsters Inc. twist! I received this as a gift when I was 11 years old (the year the film came out) and I still have all the contents after all these years.

For the most part, this is the same game you're familiar with, but just a little more simplified for the younger crowd (the age range is 7 and up, but I'd say some kids even as young as 5 would be able to understand how to play). The game is meant to be played with 2-4 players.

The game board is adorable and colorful with a ton of added details throughout that depict what going through "life" may be like there in Monstropolis (such as going to the gym, buying a pet, going to a doctor's appointment or going fishing).

As a side note, It's funny to me seeing Mike and Sulley in their college graduation robes holding diplomas (since we now know their real college story and the fact that that didn't happen). It's almost like what could have been!

The content on the cards is cute, funny and original. Below are some examples of the "pets" you can adopt, your "career" choices, the "expenses" you may need to pay off, the "homes" available to rent, etc...

With Monsters University still in mind, I can't look at this board the same way...so here's another side note. It's a little funny to me that the "Top Scarer" career card says "college required." Apparently not! At least it wasn't for Sulley.

The money in the game (featuring the image of the famed Monsters Inc. CEO, Mr. Waternoose) is more simple than the original game and only features $100 bills and $1,000 bills. Additionally , all the "Life Tiles" are worth $100, rather than varying amounts.

At the end of the game, like the original, whoever has the most money after "retiring" at the "Gargoyle Island Beach Resort", wins!

This is a fun game for children and adult Monsters Inc. fans alike. I would absolutely suggest picking this up on Amazon or on eBay using the links below:
