Check out part 1 HERE and part 2 HERE!

Last February, during the 2015 Toy Fair, Bandai revealed "Hatch 'n Heroes"- a new collection of small, plastic, egg shaped toys based on some of your favorite Disney & Pixar characters! Appropriately, they arrived in stores right around Easter.

The first batch of [Pixar] characters released in the initial wave included Buzz and Woody from Toy Story and Nemo and Dory from Finding Nemo. Cars characters were then made available late last year (see HERE and HERE). Most recently a new wave of Hatch n' Heroes based on Toy Story (celebrating its 20th anniversary) hit shelves- this newly designed Buzz Lightyear, this Pizza Planet Alien, Bullseye and Rex.

If you haven't seen these before, I gotta say, these are fun and unique little toys. They start off in the shape of an egg, but as you fold out the various tucked away parts (very similar to Transformers), you begin to see the character take shape! A cute, simple concept.

Lets take these out of the package for a closer look at what I mean...

I gotta say, I'm actually really happy that Bandai took a step back and reassessed the look and design of their original Hatch 'n Heroes Buzz. I mentioned in my post last year that I felt the Buzz design was indeed too chunky and a bit goofy looking and it seems that the makers of the toy agreed. This one looks much better! Much better (and less laughable) proportions- here are some comparison pics:

The Alien above was the hardest to track down. I actually never found it in stores after months of searching; I had no idea it would be so rare! I finally decided to just snag it on Amazon for about $10 more than the normal retail price. It was worth it though, since this is by far my favorite Hatch 'n Heroes design so far. He looks great! OOOOOooooooOOooooohhhhhhh....

My [almost] three year old nephew Noah LOVES these. We call them "eggies" ("eggie Buzz", "eggie Woody", etc.). He literally asks to play with all of them every time he comes over (he loves transforming them back and forth between the egg and the character); so they do seem to be very entertaining for that age range, at least for him.

Though some Hatch 'n Heroes have pieces that can pop off easily, these ones seem to be sturdier than others. I haven't had a problem with any pieces coming off and these ones are easy to transform.

I found the Buzz at Toy R Us (the only store I can find these Hatch 'n Heroes) a few weeks ago, so head to your local store today if you're interested! Who knows, you might even find the rare Alien as well. Even easier, pick them both up on Amazon Prime using the links below-
