For tonight's blog post, I'm taking a look at another brand new Mattel 1:55 scale Cars 3 diecast...Paul Conrev! This character was technically available back in early 2018 (in a Walmart exclusive 5-Pack), but this is his first release as a single. I'm so glad he got a wide release, as many collectors probably are who didn't fork out for the 5-pack a couple years ago (like me)!
Paul is part of the 2020 "Next-Gen Piston Cup Racers" sub-series (singles Case C) and just hit the pegs early last month As shown in the screen shot above, you can clearly spot Paul next to Cruz Ramirez during the climatic Florida 500 race. He is the next-generation racer for Bumper Save (No. 90) who replaced stock car Ponchy Wipeout (who was both in the original Cars and Cars 3).
FUN FACT: Paul Conrev's name is a nod to Cars 3 graphic designer, Paul Conrad.
You can still find this one pretty easily in stores, so be sure to check your nearest Walmart or Target. If you'd rather just pick it up online, you can check eBay HERE or Amazon (direct link below).
