Hey all! Tonight I'm back with another Mattel 1:55 scale Cars 3 diecast from early 2018...Piston Cup racer, Speedy Comet (with launcher)! I don't usually purchase diecasts with launchers, but at the time of this release, this was the only way to get the character. He has since been released as a standard single (seen HERE) and in a 2-pack with Parker Brakeston (seen HERE).
As shown in the screen shot above, Speedy (sponsored by Blinkr, no. 21) is one of the Piston Cup racers seen very briefly throughout the opening of Cars 3 during the various races. This character is ultimately replaced by next-gen racer Ryan "Inside" Laney later on in the film. Once again, there's not much to say about him really, but he's still a pretty cool looking stock race car with some colorful graphics. I really dig his orange paint job, which is actually my favorite color (even my real car is orange)!
