Tonight I'm back with a Mattel 1:55 scale Cars 3 diecast from early 2018...Piston Cup racer, Floyd Mulvihill (with launcher)! I don't usually purchase diecasts with launchers, but at the time of this release, this was the only way to get the character. He has since been released as a standard single (seen HERE).
As shown in the screen shot above, Floyd (sponsored by Gasprin, no. 70) is one of the Piston Cup racers seen very briefly throughout the opening of Cars 3 during the various races. He actually originally appeared in the first Cars and is one of the few racers still racing by the time frame of Cars 3 (with an updated design of course; a little far fetched to be honest). This character is ultimately replaced by next-gen racer Richie Gunzit. There's not much to say about him really, but he's still a pretty cool looking stock race car with some colorful graphics.
